It's both really, depending how much lockshields is open on the rad. Do you mean metal brackets for hanging radiator on the wall? this particular rad has been replaced in April, don't expect it to be completely choked up

Can I ask you why would you not bother with insulating ducting? In-line spec mention that ducting run should be 500 mm minimum, so would you still disregard it? How critical is last point? I would try it, but like I said earlier i can't undo valve, worried that I could break tap or crack sink :(
