Access and replace feet of Candy Grand'O Vita GVS169DC3 9Kg

Do you mean that they are not actually broken? The tumble drier is stacked on top so I would rather avoid moving stuff if I don't have to.

Access and replace feet of Candy Grand'O Vita GVS169DC3 9Kg

A couple of the feet of the washing machine in the title are loose. I cannot screw them back in. This is the actual appliance. I think i need to remove the front panel to check what happened inside, but I can't find anything online. Do you have any suggestion? Thanks!

Thanks. Do you think I can use a handsaw? Do I need a multitool? I need to buy one.

How to remove old shelves built into wall

Hi, I would like to remove these very old shelves from my laundry room. I thought that it would be a much easier task, but I am a bit stuck. It looks like they go 'inside` the wall and I could not find any anchoring screws. They are painted heavily so maybe I did not see them. See attached...

How do I fill this hole.

It is a soil pipe. As far as I know there are not issues with rodent. I am on the second floor and the other side is the stairwell. It feels like I need to call a builder. It might be too complex for me and I don't want to risk damaging stuff.

How do I fill this hole.

I found this big hole in the laundry room. It is an old tenement flat and the hole was probably made when they first installed the new drainage pipe. It's quite deep as you can see and what you see on the right are the leftover bricks that were just left there. Is it OK to fill it so to make...

Cover gas pipe (22mm) running over the door

We need to run a gas pipe over a couple of doors in the hallway. It will be a couple of meters. Can you suggest any decent, decorative cover? Maybe something that looks like a moulding. Or maybe any other suggestion to hide them? Thanks!

New stopcock turns but does not shut off water

Just checked again. When I screw all the way down (clockwise) the spindle does go down. The flow rate though stays exactly the same (12 l/m) for every tap. Of course within the accuracy of my measurement.

New stopcock turns but does not shut off water

Are you saying that the washer might come off and allow the flow? I will measure the flow again in fully closed and fully open position

New stopcock turns but does not shut off water

Not at all. It looks like the valve is not there.

New stopcock turns but does not shut off water

Fantastic idea. I will give it a go. I need to buy a new temperature sensor. Copper has low emissivity and the infrared thermometer gives false readings

New stopcock turns but does not shut off water

I rotate it fully clockwise and counterclockwise. A plumber, this morning at home for another job, also tried and could not explain it.

New stopcock turns but does not shut off water

Hi, I have an issue with my stopcock. It turns freely fully open to fully closed, but the water never shuts off. The valve was replaced recently. I remember the plumber tested it at the time and I am fairly sure it worked on first test, but now it does not shut the water off at all. It is not...

    How to install this threshold

Any suggestion on how to install this threshold? How can I hide the screws? I am not really sure what the white guide is for. As you might have guessed the 8mm part needs to go on top of the laminate floor. My idea would be to ignore the current holes in the laminate floor, use the guide and...

How to cover cables exiting floor near consumer unit

Thanks for the advice. I think I will go with the screen option. See the new pictures. - You can see the joist on the right. I will screw one part there - It will be free standing on the left, just on the right of the gas pipe - I will cut it so it goes around the wires.

How to cover cables exiting floor near consumer unit

I don't feel very comfortable drilling into the wall. Also, it is a bit 'crumbly. It does not to support any weight. Could I just attach it to the existing board? Or use some kind of 'feet' and avoid any fixing?

How to cover cables exiting floor near consumer unit

Hi I have a small opening in the corner of the floor of a storage room, directly below the consumer unit. Several cables come through this opening and run off to other rooms. The rest of the floor is hardwood, and I’d like to cover or protect this area so it’s tidy and safe, but still...

Install cabinet back panel from front?

Hi, I need to fix a melamine cover panel inside an existing cabinet to hide what’s behind it. Constraints: • Panel must be installed from the front only. • No access from the back. • No top panel (drawer above), so no fixing from inside. • Clamping is not possible...

What is causing these cracks under the shelves

I noticed these cracks under the shelves in my storage room. It’s an old building in Scotland. If you touch it’s a bit crumbly, but the wall is quite solid. The shelves are quite sturdy. Any idea what is causing it and how to fix it or clean it up?
