    Two boiler questions.

I've been chasing the plumber every day for a price on it. Believe me I am not bein negligent. The lack of speed on the fix is the main reason why I was going to go through the insurance. I stopped the prv by twisting the red cap. One way opened it up more and tight the other way stopped it

    Two boiler questions.

Hi, I've just moved house but kept my old place and rented it out as it wasn't selling. So we stretched ourselves to get both places but we are in and sorted now. I had both boilers in each house serviced and in the rental I had the certificate done. The plumber who it's a mate says the gas...

    Hoover hsc170 tumble dryer

Thanks for your reply. I did a little more digging round last night and found some generic tumble dryer Q+A which suggested a .22 capacitor on the pcb. The replacement from Maplin was about £2 but i just ordered the whole thing from the below...

    Hoover hsc170 tumble dryer

Sorry to drag up this thread. Ive had this dryer for a few years. For the past 12 months its been squeeking and squeeling. I will take a look at it if i can fix the main problem. The main problem is that when you press the start button you hear a buzz and then the dryer starts, after that...

Glow Worm 30 cxi and honeywell cm67

Its ok i found it. I used a pair of pliars to short it out and the boiler fired. Assuming the cabling is fine, is there anything obvious to test on the Honeywell CM67? Ive tried to get an installers manual but cannot find one...... By the way, is there any high voltage i.e 240V in there...

Glow Worm 30 cxi and honeywell cm67

Hi, Im having some problems with my central heating. The hot water is working just fine luckily. If i set the thermostat on the honeywell to manual and say 25C i can see the little flame on the display and hear the click but the boiler does not start. I removed the batteries on the...

Please help, Glow Worm 30 cxi blowing 3a fuse

Thanks Mick, There was water coming out of the diverter motor, that was defo the cause of the short. I just need to know where the water is coming from. Ideally i dont want to replace the cartridge if i dont need it. It looks like an O ring somewhere to me

Please help, Glow Worm 30 cxi blowing 3a fuse

The part i have ordered is a new diverter valve motor. I assumed that this was leaking into itself but im not sure water is meant to go near it. Ive blown down the motor and felt air coming out of the plug socket. I suspect the motor is working fine even though its been wet and the problem is...

Please help, Glow Worm 30 cxi blowing 3a fuse

OK, the sparky guy managed to see a small amount of smoke before the pop. The diverter valve appears to be leaking and its got into the plug and this popping the fuse. New one on order, hopefully thats the end of it.

What does a Diverter Valve do ?

Mine has gone one further and leaked water out of it and into the plug which is popping the 3A fuse.

Please help, Glow Worm 30 cxi blowing 3a fuse

I cannot see any signs of water in the PCB area or the insides. I also left an oil radiator in the boiler room for a day. An electical engineer is coming tonight to test the PCB and the connections, after that i think i might use one of my life lines on the home insurance. /Jon

Please help, Glow Worm 30 cxi blowing 3a fuse

Hi, Im really hoping someone could help me with some useful advice. My Glow Worm 30 CXI is about 3-4 years old and two days ago we had no hot water or heating. I went to the boiler to find an F1 fault which the book says is a connector, ignitor or gas supply issue. After a reboot it was back...
