Patio 1-pt polymeric grout - WPoint vs Rompox

Good afternoon, Given that I want to use a one-part polymeric to repoint my sandstone patio. Notwithstanding the price is there any appreciable difference between Marshalls Weatherpoint 365 and Romex Rompox Easy in terms of ease of application or durability? Thanks.

Moving house - some work needed for electrical certificate sign-off

I'm sorry this is a bit vague but it's all I have at the moment and I could do with a bit of advice. My daughter is moving to a new house. They are almost reaching completion and they're checking all the certs, etc. are in order. The estate agent has been in touch with the vendor today and sent...

    Best kitchen unit supply

You might want to consider diy-kitchens.com at Pontefract. I've just ordered a 14-unit kitchen from them with laquered MDF gloss doors and the cabinets are supplied rigid (glued and dowelled). Doors and drawers fitted too, if you choose the option. Blum drawer fittings and hinges - good...

Floor tiles for new kitchen - advice sought...

Hi All, First time poster in the tiling section and I'm looking for some advice please. I need to buy floor tiles for a 3mx3m kitchen as part of a kitchen refit. I'm getting a builder to do the work. He has an account with Topps and has told me I can use his discount. We want black or grey...

Baxi 105e with drip from rear of pump housing

I've got a small drip from the back of the pump housing on my Baxi 105e - you can just see it in the picture. Looking at the parts list it seems there's an o-ring seal(#86) between the back of the plastic housing and the small metal flange that carries the return pipe assembly (#70). I think...

    Baxi 105e drain tap dripping...

Thanks for the reply. I 'll open and close it a few times to see if that cures it. If I do replace it do I need to shut any other valves off on the feed pipes at the back of the boiler, or do I just drain the boiler, replace the valve and refill with the filling loop. Thanks!

Whats this on my Radiator valve

To my eye they look like different threads. The one on the left is a taper thread and the one on the right looks like a parallel thread. They supposed to be like that?

    Baxi 105e drain tap dripping...

I've been chasing a small water leak round my Baxi 105e. Nipped up a couple of joints and I'm almost done. However, there is an intermittent drip when the boiler starts up in the morning (I'm usually in the Land of Nod) which stops after a minute or two when the boiler gets warm. I believe...

    Baxi 105e with leaking valve

Good point. Actually the boiler is in a cupboard upstairs, where the cistern used to be. The leaky valve is probably a little bit higher than the valves on the radiators. Will it still need a full system drain?

    Baxi 105e with leaking valve

Thanks for the comments. I can't tell whether it's the 'return' or the 'DHW return' valve. Could you enlighten me?

    Baxi 105e with leaking valve

Hi, I have a Baxi 105e with an intermittent drip from one of the valves. It appears to be dripping on startup from cold - when the system is warmed up the drip stops. It seems to be coming from the spindle on what I think is the 'Heating Return Valve' - it's the one on the extreme RHS as you...

    Ancient fusebox...??

Thanks for the considered replies, it's all very helpful. I will be using an independent fitter/builder not a kitchen supplier's team. Is it usual to have a fridge/freezer combo on a non-rcd circuit? I take your point about additional sockets and switches - I was clumsily trying to establish...

    Ancient fusebox...??

That does indeed appear to be the way forward. Thanks to all who replied. This is all new to me so forgive me if these are daft questions.... If I were to go for a (larger) CU and only hang the kitchen cicuit onto it at this stage does the entire kitchen need to be rewired to comply with...

    Ancient fusebox...??

Hi, First post in the 'leccy section and I could do with some advice please. Here's my 'mains in', meter & fuse box. I'm guessing it's the original installation for the house, built in the 1960's, I think. It's in a pantry off the kitchen and I've been living with it for the last 27 years...

    Cement for pointing paving slabs.

I've just re-done my patio with Romex Rompox Easy and it was a doddle. No bending, no backache, no mess and it only took a couple of hours. It looks good and it's hardening very well 24 hrs on. I'm not at all handy with a trowel so thought I'd try it and I'm fairly chuffed with the results. The...
