thanks mate, I'm going to scrape off as much of the old paint, then sand then hand sand to feather the edge. Will post the paint results :-)

I dont have a chisel, and I'm guessing it would make it a larger area of uneven paint. I'm not sure what feather sand means, should I just take to it with my sander and see how far it goes? may use very fine sand paper.

hello, I'm going to paint over old woodwork, on door architraves. The old paint is cracked or flaking off. i've already sanded down the wood but there still appears to be more loose paint and gets bigger the more I sand down. should I do some more sanding down... i dont want to end up doing the...
