    Heatslave 12/18 lockout when cold

Thank you for the responses. Photocell was replaced recently as the previous one ate itself. With regards to control box is that the clear burner control box? I’ll check if the engineer tested with an analyser. I know after his first visit it really smelt wrong. Now it’s smelling fairly sweet...

    Heatslave 12/18 lockout when cold

Hi all thank you for the responses so far. Unfortunately work pressures have meant I haven’t been able to give the boiler a proper look since posting. I have managed to make a video of it attempting to fire.

    Heatslave 12/18 lockout when cold

Hi all, My boiler has recently undergone some work (new pump, filter, tigerloop etc) and thankfully it’s up and running again for the most part. Unfortunately we now have an ongoing issue of the boiler going to lockout when it tries to fire from cold. I’ll then have to reset it twice to get it...

Heatslave 12/18 odd hot water behaviour

Hi Oilhead Thanks for the response. No change in any equipment outside of the boiler. I’m wondering if it’s the stopcock as that was turned off when working on the boiler although that’s only a three years old. Perhaps it’s got stuck partially open. I can’t change it without cutting the water...

Heatslave 12/18 odd hot water behaviour

Hi Recently had an issue with my heatslave 12/18 where it couldn’t come out of lockout. It turned out to be a photo sensor that had deteriorated and a burner nozzle which was completely coked up. since then the hot water supply has been changeable with showers suddenly cooling off to cold...

no central heating but DV actuator is operational

Well, I’m now in a worse state than I was before. Boiler now not firing at all. Somethings running as there’s a hum but it doesn’t plume or anything. Also note that the actuator doesn’t move. Bled the system via the two valves on top and also bled the pump.

no central heating but DV actuator is operational

Me again! Thanks oilhead. Replaced the valve this morning and the actuator. Just waiting for the system to heat up again. One thing we needed to do is drain down the tank at the base of boiler. We re-pressurised the system and bled the rads bit I’m hearing water gurgles / bubbles within the...

no central heating but DV actuator is operational

Perfect diagnosis Jeff! Thank you. Removed the actuator to find that the valve had a small weep where it connects to the actuator. That moisture had corroded the micro switch which is now shot. Also found that one of the springs had broken from it mount so I think it’s going have to be a full...

no central heating but DV actuator is operational

Hi Jeff Thanks for the reply. By end switch do you mean the micro switch inside the actuator under the motor?

no central heating but DV actuator is operational

Hi all, I’ve recently moved house and inherited a Worcester green star heat slave 12/18 with a Honeywell wireless thermostat. A day or two ago we lost central heating. The hot water works fine as the boiler fires up. However there is no heat in the rads throughout the house. I bled the rads...
