can you isolate the system and leave just the timer connected, try taking out the cables to the heating and the hot water one at a time and or both at once. hope this makes sense as I am a electrician not a plumber

I dont think you can get those 'white' MCBs but Im 100% sure that you can get newer MEM MCBs which fit in to those dbs...

Make sure your switch is x-rated I think it means that it is suitable to use in a commercial environment where you would have lots of fluorescent lights.

I know it proberly won't help you but they were made between 1988 and 2001. My dad used to work at the factory where they were made.

check how many terminals you have at each switch, old and new, your old switches if they have four terminals might be double pole switches, if your new switches have three terminals, they mght be two way switches.
