Composite Fence Posts to Replace Wooden Fence Posts...

Composites are surprisingly expensive. I have been very pleased with concrete spurs. If you like, you can use masonry paint to blend them in with the fence.

What kind of front doors are these.

Looks like a composite to me, at least metal faced, as there seems to be a seam at the front leading edge, but difficult to see from the pic. As mentioned scrape some paint off.

    Photography..

Photography is the untalented man's art form. Did I mention that I paint and draw to a high standard? If you need advice on composition I'll be happy to help out.

Can I paint this Upvc door?

If it has yellowed then it is probably uPVC. Oil based paints do not yellow in direct sun light, uPVC does. My GF calls our back door a composite door even though it is uPVC. In many cases, it is a marketing thing. Composite implies that it is made from more than one material, in your case, it...

Painting a Fibreglass skin Composite Door

Those composite doors have already been painted, why would they need to be primed again ? A good key with grey scotch brite as used by vehicle painters would be ideal and then it's ready for painting . Primer would be required if it was to seal the fibre glass or any repairs where there is no...

how to paint a composite door

I haven't done a composite door, but for painting plastic I find a single generous flowing coat of non-drip gloss gives a nice finish it is safer to take a door off to paint it to avoid runs, if you can do the edges and fancy bits first

Weather resistant spray paint recommendations for garden furniture

I’ve got a few garden furniture items that need repainting - and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for bulletproof outdoor aerosol paint. Last year I repainted some table legs with some normal automotive spray paint and rust has come through, so looking for something more...

    Door with sidelights

I'm unimpressed by plastic doors. A wooden door and frame typically lasts more than a hundred years. But unless it is protected by an open porch will need regular painting. Composite doors are quite sturdy.

How would you tackle this door?

Previous owners painted over a navy composite door with a brighter blue paint. It has started to bubble off and chip quite badly. I would like to repaint it with rustoleum UPVC paint but unsure about the steps to take before painting. How would you go about preparing the door before painting?

Can I paint this Upvc door?

Edit: My wife tells me it’s a composite door, not UPVC. What do I know? As above. Our front door which has been on for about 15 years now is looking like it needs a new coat of paint - it’s definately a lot yellower than the white frame. I think being south facing, the sun has done its worse...

What is my door made of?

Looks like a composite door.... that somebody has tried to sand? They're timber cores with GRP skins, the colour is part of the skin of the material. Overpaintable? Yes with the right paint. It won't have the robustness of the original surface though. Nozzle

    Special coating for new car

I agree to use high-ed paint sealant products, it works pretty well. There are many good brands to choose (like mezerna power protect ultra, nano composite crystal, blackfire wet diamond and others). Check the opinions and see.

    How approach composite door problems

Hello, Just got a composite door and not happy the way it is and would like advice on how I should approach this. The door rubs on the frame so it get that sound and springy feeling. I could feel some air coming in around the bottom right opening side. Not much but worse than the previous door...

    New front door....insulated?

I see composite front doors all over the place looking nasty and faded and you can't paint them easily, and you're sort of lumbered with them once you've 'upgraded a thermal element'. Is the existing door actually rotten? Is there any space for an external porch?

    New front door

My point was, if your current door failed due to lack of maintenance, maybe composite is the best way to go for you! If it was not lack of maintenance are you are prepared to paint every few years then that is fine. Sounds like it was either not a quality timber or not fully sealed or...
