Stoves range oven - flames behind control panel!

Hi all, I've just turned our oven on and after a couple of minutes the control panel sparked and I could see flames behind the clock and the dial next to it (the oven control) which I managed to blow out. Any ideas what's happened and what I need to do to fix it? The rest of the oven (grill etc)...

Ferroli F30 boiler shut down light on

Hi folks I've had some brilliant advice on here before re. my boiler so I'm hoping it can work again. The boiler shut down light (LED2) has come on on my Ferroli and it won't even fire. I have replaced the safety thermostat which is the first suggested step in the manual (page 40 here...

Advice needed re. spalling bricks please

Hi KenG No, I don't think so although unfortunately we do have a fair amount of free standing wall on the front and side of the house. I did fear that full scale replacement was the only option and it looks as though that will be the case - better get saving! cheers Jamie

Advice needed re. spalling bricks please

Hi both, thanks. I'm pretty sure that all of the bricks will turn out to be defective - more and more show signs of failing each year - so from the sounds of it there isn't much I can do other than knock it down and start again which I can't really afford to do at the moment. How hard is...

Advice needed re. spalling bricks please

Hi folks, We have a couple of small walls at the front of our house that have been gradually deteriorating since we moved in 4 years ago and although it hasn't been too cold this winter they have suffered more than in previous years which has finally convinced me to do something about them...

    Extractor fan wiring help needed!

It works! I checked the connections at the switch and although they seemed fine I used some of my excellent wiring skills to bypass the switch and lo and behold, the fan worked! I rewired the switch back in and the great news was that it carried on working, so all I need to do now is tidy up my...

    Extractor fan wiring help needed!

Hi both Thank you for such speedy replies. I guess the good news is that the electrical connections are correct, the not so good news is that I'm shockingly bad at wiring. I have ordered one of the junction boxes that EFLI suggested and will amend immediately. Sorry. The other bit of not...

Wiring a Manrose in line extractor fan

Hi all Thanks for all your advice, much appreciated. I think I'll go just for the 3 pole isolator pull cord approach, with the cord near the light switch, and hope that I/the wife can remember to turn it on/off when we get up in the night! This is a great forum, cheers again

Wiring a Manrose in line extractor fan

Hi, yes, it's a timer fan and although I want it to come on with the light and then remain on for a while after I'd also like the facility to turn it off completely so that it doesn't come on when, for example, I go for a pee in the middle of the night! If I got a more appropriate pull cord...
