Shower waste trap and P bend

Ohhhhhh yeah. That's a good point. I suppose because the head height of the bath and the basin will be above the shower tray it will find its level somewhere in the middle = all over the floor and carpet. That's a good point. So do you think drawing 1 would be better?

Shower waste trap and P bend

Ok so image 1 is what I put in for the upstairs toilet. I fitted a boss to run the upstairs services too. However it is only in the middle of the joists. Image 2 is another position further along (2.5cm lower than the first, but also a bit further along so will need extra drop to get to) the...

Shower waste trap and P bend

Right. I think I'll be able to get a bigger fall if I run it that way. I'll have a look tonight. Hopefully no more water pipes need to be moved. Thanks for the help. Would you mind if I uploaded a picture of what I was thinking in relation to the boss setup when I get the chance to take it?

Shower waste trap and P bend

So would this be better if I can achieve it? I'm thinking 40mm from the utilities downwards and then the horizontal pipe going into the boss being 50mm. Would that work? This way the holes in the joists will be further from the edge of the house which I'd prefer.

Shower waste trap and P bend

Read this about ten times to try and digest it. So annoying when you think you have a plan and then find out it's wrong. Or at least can be done better. lol. So this is a rough diagram of the setup with my original plan. The red lines are the joists (which can and do have holes in) I will...

Shower waste trap and P bend

Had an absolute nightmare with it all yesterday. Was gonna spend the day running the waste pipes and then found I had two 22mm radiator pipes hinder the correct fall so had to cut out and make a workaround. Then realised I still weren't going to get the fall I needed with where I put the boss...

Ahhhh yes that's it. They have removable hair traps AND rubber gaskets. Must be those then.

Shower waste trap and P bend

This is the link to the tray. https://www.bathroommountain.co.uk/tokyo-rectangular-matt-black-slate-texture-stone-shower-tray-1700x800mm-c48133 It does mention 'trap' in the description and the red circled bit is kind of a tray that slots in, and then another part slots into that which...

Shower waste trap and P bend

That does definately sound like them lol. Must say though I'm impressed with the quality of what turned up. Went for a matt black stuff and is a really nice finish.

Shower waste trap and P bend

So I've been looking at it and with all the bits that slot into the top, it appears that the little trays that slide in create a water trap. I'm going to do some tests before fitting it fully.

I think I'll have to. Thank you for your help.

Shower waste trap and P bend

It's 50mm OD but it's way smaller than the old 50mm pipe that I removed and from what I can see OD of 50mm solvent weld is actually 54mm so wouldn't fit the fitting.

Shower waste trap and P bend

Sorry... me again. Something else I can't get my head around. So I'm looking to fit the new shower trap. I have attached an image of the part that came with the shower tray and I have two questions if someone could help with. 1. Will I need a U-bend / P trap as well or is this built into...

    Sewer pipe air vent question

Ok. Front view now. How about coming round the bend, then having the air vent coming up from the next piece of pipe such as a branch (which I already have) and then double bend it back into the coroner for the vertical run?

    Sewer pipe air vent question

Sorry to kick this off again but I've had my crayons out again and struggling to find a part that'll do the job. I have done an aerial sketch of the new layout from where the new hole is in the floor (currently the female opening of an elbow) and the run along the side wall to the back where it...

Rejoining a dead leg to main feed.

Just in case anyone wanted to know I ended up hacking out the ceiling to find the origin of the dead leg. I couldn't get in to cut the tee out but caped it off about 2cm from the tee so hopefully no legionnaires disease for us. Lol.

Rejoining a dead leg to main feed.

Only about a year as that's when I took the WC out. I can't really get to the other side. I'm gonna rip up the floorboards later and just chop it out I think. Might as well whilst I'm cutting holes everywhere else lol

Rejoining a dead leg to main feed.

Yah that's a good point. I imagine the water would just bypass the first T and carry along the 22 to wherever is calling for it. Maybe I'll have to dig the ceiling out and cap it right at the T or chop it out. Don't most people's home that have an old hot water appliance feed have dead legs...
