Replacing a ceiling rose with spotlights

Hmm... Step 2 of the manufacturer's instructions state "Identify and make note of the wiring for reconnection later" and Step 4 "Check that... You have correctly identified the house wires" neither of which your tradesperson appears to have done. I think the traditional loop circuit would...

HOTPOINT WT540 4TH LIGHT AND ON/OFF BUTTON FLASHING SLOWLY??

The TRIAC is an electronic component on the printed circuit board (PCB) module. If you want to tackle a repair, firstly, check for breaks in any of the wires in the loom to the motor and also the motor wiring connector. If all OK, the most likely cure seems to be to replace the PCB...

Replacing old dial thermostat (T630) with new digital

Dave, just so you understand why I said what I did... If you follow the black line from the L on the T6360 diagrams (that's your brown wire) it goes to terminal 1 on the diagram. Now follow the black line from the L on the CM907 diagrams and it goes up to terminal A. Follow the black...

Replacing old dial thermostat (T630) with new digital

That looks like a T6360A(or B). According to the wiring diagram live comes in on terminal 1 and switched live goes out to the heating load on terminal 3. The thermostat is double insulated so doesn't need an earth connection, however if an earth wire is present it should be 'parked' on the...

Let's talk satin paint. Having some real bother,

Could the 'dry chunks of paint' be the top coat lifting the undercoat off whatever is being painted and being deposited elsewhere by the brush? If, say, the surface required priming or some other prep prior to undercoat?

Help identify this door hinge type?

Thanks guys. The Nico hinges look like a similar system, although the door part seems much thicker than my current ones. Ahhh, yes those are the ones, thanks for finding that old thread. Can't see the word 'Assa' on mine, but might be there under the paint. The frame blades are still...

    Hinges for Kitchen Cupboard Door

Rob, I'm not a kitchen fitter, but I know there are a few different hinges with differing degrees of door opening angle etc available from Ironmongery Direct as I've ordered bits & pieces from them in the past. These look like they're made for the job: [Blum CLIP-On Hinge - 155 DEGREE - 0...

Indesit DIF 04 flashing light problems

The error codes are given by the On/Off light flashing together with one or more of the first four program lights. Is the 50/eco the 4th program light from the left? If so, I believe that indicates a failed heating element, or the temperature sensor behind the door panel has come off it's...

There may have been a gas cooker there & then when a new cooker was installed it wouldn't meet current regulations so the gas was capped off & the socket moved to allow installation of an electric one. If an all electric one goes in there then I doubt you'll be able to convince your landlady...
