Combi vs Open Vent for 3 Bed family home

Hello Rob Quads, What did you go for in the end? And how did it work out? I'm in a similar position to what you were in a few years back and would be interested to hear. Regards

Best boiler fr 4 bed, 1bath, 1 shower, family with 2 kids?

A Combi I am told will suffice, but you can't run 2 showers, and with 1 shower running, another tap is not going to deliver a great deal. A Megaflo on the other hand will deliver a lot more, but you don't get the benefit on instant hot water. I'd be interested to know the experiences of...

Does anyone have experience of Worcester Bosch 42cdi?

I'm interested in whether its able to deliver a shower plus reasonable flow of water to kitchen taps? I've had some people tell me that with all combis the shower will take almost everything. And yet I've read comments like this too: "Even with a flow rate of 18 on the 42 Cdi the...

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

I'm going to leave it for now, thanks to comments on this site, plus the basic logic of if there are no visible leaks then there probably isn't a problem. I'll follow your advice and get up there and look at the moss myself...

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

I've just noted that the surveyor has pointed out that the flat roof structure has no external openings to ventilate the flat roof structure. What does putting ventilation entail? And how much would it cost?

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

One other thing is that we are going to get a new boiler, and the heating engineer has said he'll put a new flue through the flat roof, which will open the felt up. Do you think that we may as well replace the roof anyway, once the flue has been put through, or is it an easy job to patch it...

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

If you don't mind me asking, once it starts leaking, isn't that too late? I mean presumably the support to your roof, and the plaster in the ceiling has to be replaced, at the point you find out the ceiling is leaking, because the water has to travel through all that for you to know a leak is...

Does this 4 bed semi need more than 2 downpipes?

The surveyor reckons it needs more down pipes at the back and front. I've had several experienced roofers recommend 1 or 2 more either side. I had a young lad come around ask me quite sensibly have you had any overflow problems? I've only just bought the place, but the answer, to my...

Removing a child's sink from a wall - what could go wrong?

What do you think is a reasonable price for this job? I've just had 275 quoted.

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

The surveyor who identified that the roof needed removing said that I should get an estimate for a modern kind of elastomeric felt? I'm assuming this is not the same thing as fibre glass?
