The surveyor reckons it needs more down pipes at the back and front.

I've had several experienced roofers recommend 1 or 2 more either side.

I had a young lad come around ask me quite sensibly have you had any overflow problems? I've only just bought the place, but the answer, to my knowledge, going by the ceilings, is no. He reckons if there's no problem, no need for additional down pipes.

Be interested to know what anyone thinks?

Gah! as gerald suggested, use that 'survey' to light your stove. unless its overflowed before then No you don't need any more.

Even if it overflows doesn't automatically mean you need more d/p's, it may mean the gutter fall is wrong, some fitters struggle with bays and this is probably why the surveyor has covered himself knowing this.

I'll wait until it ****es it down and see how the guttering works. If there's a problem I'll get it fixed.
