Neighbour says our new guttering has caused problems?

It would've been a lot simpler and better to replace the gutter like for like.
Going smaller has only saved a few quid and caused this disagreement.
If you want my opinion, do not mention the problem with the white downpipe, or most likely he will divert it into the shared gutter.
At the moment his gutter is taking a minimal amount of water from the small piece of roof below the dormer.
The only reason this could overflow is that your joint is sitting too high.
That would need to be rectified.

Looking at pictures better, that adapter seem to be one of them that must be fitted from smaller to bigger gutter.
See red and blue line and please confirm.
Then, totally unrelated, while your good friend roofer was up there, why didn't he straighten that 4 inch pipe marked in green a put a ss screw in the joint to keep it straight?
It would only take a minute and I couldn't sleep at night thinking that I left it like that.
