Paying for new boiler with credit card?

Forgive my naivety, I've never had a credit card, still don't. Why the 2.5% charge?

Paying for new boiler with credit card?

'Mike the boiler' reckons that its a good idea to pay for a boiler system in part of full with a credit card. He says that doing this means two things. Firstly, the fact that the tradesperson takes credit cards shows that their bank considers the tradesperson to be a low risk, and...

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

Here's the photo of the roof, what do you reckon? Does it need replacing? I had a builder say to me today that moss on a felt roof is not necessarily a problem. He added that a fibre glass roof is more expensive and better than a felt roof, because its likely to last longer, but he said...

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

Yes, I've seen there's quite a lot of moss on the roof. Surveyor said that is there's moss on the roof, this damages the roof, and will mean leaks are likely. I'll get you a photo.

Removing a child's sink from a wall - what could go wrong?

I want to get a child's sink removed from the wall. I've posted the job on a few sites and had a few responses. I'm imagining that because of the small scale of the job that the people who have responded are in the hanyman bracket. I just want to make sure they do a decent job of it...

Thank-you! Yes, you are right, the number is not included on the first page, but is buried in the 'background checks' leaf/link. For those who are interested, here's an example of what clicking on that leaf takes you through to. http://www.checkatrade.com/HeatingHouse/Checks.aspx

Fibre glass v Felt for flat roofs

I've just bought a 1930s semi with a flat roofed extension. The surveyor has identified extensive moss on the felt lining to the flat roof, and has said moss needs to be removed, which will take some of the roof with it, which means whole thing needs to be relined. A builder recently came...

Take J Smith and Sons (London) Ltd for example, they appear on Checkatrade and on http://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk as 'accredited installers' and yet their details don't seem to appear at all on the gas safety register...
