    Vaillant Ecotec Plus 418 problems

HI, My radiators stopped working yesterday. I can see on the boiler that it starts up, water temp rises to set temp and then shortly after it shuts down again. I can hear and feel the pump upstairs doing something but no heat goes to the radiators. This morning the boiler showed F24, pump...

    Bosch Serie 6 Pump (wvh28422gb) E:18 Error

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the pump on one of these? I cannot see how to remove the base to gain access, any ideas. (Someone decided to wash a cushion that came apart in the washer and it now needs a clean out, E18. I cannot open the filter cap. I need to get into clean...

    Washer Dryer Low Pressure

My Washing machine works fine as a washer but recently refused to start the drying cycle. I have replaced the machine and this one is showing low water pressure, could this have been what stopped the dryer working?

    Valve head Micro Switch

When the valve rotates the cam/cog arm should make contact with the microswitch. Should this contact be a momentary thing or should the microswitch be permanently engaged in order to fire up the boiler?

Hot Water only when CH is on

However, there is resistance when the system is powered up. Ahh so it is open and jammed at all times, just not operating the microswitch? Prior to swapping heads could I take the HW head off and manually try to open/shut the valve to free it?

Hot Water only when CH is on

OK, thanks for the input. I have powered down the sytsem completely and then I checked the lever on the valve head. I can push it across to the manual position without feeling any resistance and if I let go it does not return to the default position. When I do the same on the CH valve you can...

Hot Water only when CH is on

Thanks for that. Yes, I am competent. Well, I am with electronics. I presume you should check in the actual valve and that the valve to check is the one upper one in the pic?

Hot Water only when CH is on

Hi, For sometime, I have been having a problem where the hot water will only heat up if the central heating is on. I thought it might be related to my controller, which was definitely faulty, so I replaced it with a ST9400...

Just had a contact from a heating engineer, £125 + VAT per hour. This was quoting on a non urgent basis. Am I out of touch or is this a high?

Thanks for that advice. I believe that the pump is running though whether it is running correctly is another thing.

    Problem with Vaillant boiler

I didnt mean the cost of the radiators, I understand I would have to pay for those as that is a maintenance issue it is the collateral damage I was querying. BTW was it a big leak?

    Problem with Vaillant boiler

Thanks for that. "where this happens it is the homeowners' responsibility to pay for the repairs" In normal usage if a radiator sprung a leak you would pay for the plumbing repair and the home insurance the carpet etc, would that not be the case here? "as the Vaillant heat exchanger is...

Have I offended you? If I have I apologise. (though I have gone through the thread and cannot see why you would be offended but perhaps I am just being dim)

    Problem with Vaillant boiler

Citroen Can I ask why? Back to CH any suggestions? (My concern re leaks is that for some reason the installer/builder buried some of the pipework under a concrete floor and a cobbled hallway..)
