    EICR Faults

Hence why I stated "if it is problematic". However if it is outside of the DNO's design criteria (even if Zs is tolerable throughout) then there may be an issue which needs rectifying, e.g. a poor joint. So it cannot simply be ignored - although it will be for the DNO to determine whether it's...

    EICR Faults

Untrue. There is no need to have a rental property wholly compliant with present day Regulations. And whilst Ze is a supply-side issue it still needs to be rectified if it's problematic. Obviously this would be achieved by reporting it to the DNO. I thought that would be obvious.

    Pull cord reposition

A stupid suggestion though. It is also likely to fray the cord due to friction.

Those extension leads, on a drum

Quite often used in domestic environments here.

Those extension leads, on a drum

It's actually called in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

Those extension leads, on a drum

I'm not a fan of trip hazards. I advocate sufficient socket-outlets so that extension leads aren't required.

    Add light switch to garage

I was wondering how everyone else missed this very obvious implication.

Those extension leads, on a drum

It doesn't need to be anywhere close to its (not "it is") maximum capacity to need to be fully unwound. The coiled capacity is greatly reduced. And it can heat up very quickly. Don't expect me to promote irresponsibility.

Those extension leads, on a drum

Yes. It's good practice always to fully unwind the lead.

Those extension leads, on a drum

The cable shall be fully unwound when in use.

Socket testers, false sense of safety, or actually useful?

Unlawful totalitarian diktats should never be characterised as "rules". This gives these crimes a legitimacy that is wholly undeserved.

    Alarms - Mains Wired, Interconnected

AudioLINK+ is MUCH, MUCH quieter (and MUCH, MUCH quicker) than the previous AudioLINK.

    Alarms - Mains Wired, Interconnected

AudioLINK has existed for many years. It's always been free.

2 Lamps to 1 Mains Plug

I don't merely believe myself to be in Ireland. It is an indisputable fact. You should ask for an atlas (or a globe) for Easter.

2 Lamps to 1 Mains Plug

Obviously the Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. Don't be a prat.
  18. Risteard

2 Lamps to 1 Mains Plug

Incidentally Appendix 6 of the Code of Practice specifically warns against this.

2 Lamps to 1 Mains Plug

Is it permitted by BS 1363?
