Ballcock float valve in hot water header tank - noisy refill

Thanks, appreciate the info. A bit puzzling why the new one is so noisy though.

Water circulating pump - the large silver screw in the middle

I have a spare, old water circulating pump, a Grundfos 15-50, like this: https://www.anchorpumps.com/media/catalog/product/cache/adc97c95711116b76690f2d96fb29368/l/e/leoldshite_1.jpg About that silver screw in the middle, can it be obtained separately? It's missing from the old 'parts' pump.

Ballcock float valve in hot water header tank - noisy refill

It's not high pitched, it's just the noise of the water refilling. It's just far more noticeable than the old valve. Not a header tank? What's the name then please? Also, what's a part 2 valve?

Ballcock float valve in hot water header tank - noisy refill

Recently replaced the ballcock float valve in the hot water header tank in my attic (the old one was over 20 years old and a bit knackered) - I can't remember the exact model of the replacement but it was pretty similar in appearance to this...

Builder's wheelbarrow - who makes the best ones?

I currently have a 30 year old builder's wheelbarrow which looks pretty much like the following (different forks design though): https://www.wheelbarrows.co.uk/easiload-galvanised-wheelbarrow-85-ltr-150kg/ Mine is very rusted and generally just falling apart, even though it's been patched up...

Drain cleaner that won't negatively affect my septic tank?

On checking my drains I'm getting a little fat build-up on a few feet of the base of the pipe work that leads from the kitchen sink. I could use my pressure washer and spray hose attachment (which is a messy pain to use) or try a liquid drain cleaner of some description. Bearing in mind that I...

Cooker extractor fan hose (round) - can't seem to find one with a 110mm diameter

Have measured the diameter of my existing crumbling, mouldy hose a number of times and it's apparently 110mm, yet the closest hose diameter that I can find for this application (cooker extractor hood fan to outside) is 100mm. Isn't there such a thing as a 110mm hose or do I use a 100mm hose and...

Cistern siphon - trying to identify a clip

Thanks very much for finding that, that's not a bad idea. Will let you know if I have any luck.

Cistern siphon - trying to identify a clip

Thanks chaps, yeah I had thought about replacing the whole siphon but I hate waste and it seems overkill to replace it just because of a small worn retaining ring that probably cost less than a penny to manufacture. If I can't find a replacement ring I'll probably try and make one from some...

Cistern siphon - trying to identify a clip

My toilet cistern has a siphon very much like this one: https://www.plumbers-mate-sales.co.uk/macdee-metro-3-piece-oblong-toilet-cistern-syphons---08000940-640-p.asp I've just had to replace the diaphragm washer which looks like this...

Toilet handle - what is this part called?

Thanks but I mean the white, cylindrical, threaded piece that the handles goes through (it acts as a bushing between the handle's stem and the cistern) - if you look at this photo: https://www.notjusttaps.co.uk/user/products/large/value%20cistern%20lever.jpg see the white thread piece on the...

Toilet handle - what is this part called?

In the following photo there's the white plastic part that the handle goes through and then a white plastic nut is screwed on: https://www.notjusttaps.co.uk/user/products/large/value%20cistern%20lever.jpg What's that part called? The one in my cistern is getting worn inside which means that...

Can Myson TRV 2 way heads be dismantled?

I've ordering a replacement head anyhow but just curious - the plastic pin in a Myson TRV 2 way head is stuck out (what causes this anyhow? can it be repaired?). This is the head: https://www.stevensonplumbing.co.uk/myson-trv-2-way-head.html?page=3 And the stuck pin looks like the one on the...

Difficulty finding a particular size of roof sheet

Just re-checked the measurements of my roof sheets - the pitch appears to be 146mm while the profile depth is about 50mm, maybe a tad under.

Thanks for the link - is 'Big 6' the common term for that size?

Difficulty finding a particular size of roof sheet

I see - well, I'm even more confused now. Perhaps I'll go and measure it myself soon. Any tips on how best to do that? BTW, I believe he was looking to replace the broken sheet with a fibre cement sheet. Needs to be very strong due to my fairly exposed location.

Difficulty finding a particular size of roof sheet

I have an old outbuilding which had part of an old (maybe asbestos?) roof sheet ripped off during Storm Darragh. My roofer is having difficulty finding a replacement sheet due to the profile of the existing sheets. When he measured it up I wrote down the profile which he stated was 'one and...

I'm not though, it flushes pretty easily, my current plastic lever arm failed yesterday after having been in use for a few years.
