    Salus iT500rx Receiver

Maybe, I’m not self employed so have no idea on costs, seems steep imo. Would you not be comfortable doing it yourself with guidance from us on here?

    Smoke alarm requirements after extension

If you’re a homeowner I don’t think there’s any enforcement. In the link provided above it mentions kitchens above ground level or where no exit to outdoors.

    Salus iT500rx Receiver

A few to choose from, but: EPH as mentioned above, Esi stratus or Mistral, Drayton Wiser, Tado, Hive, Honeywell T6RHW. Might be some others as well.

    Salus iT500rx Receiver

Hard to tell from the photo, but the resistor (D7) above Relay 2 looks to have possible thermal damage. New Salus stuff is supposed to be ok, but they have always been renowned for being poor quality. Maybe try a different brand?

    Roof tile

I would have thought that's better as it's easier to replace? As per @noseall, remove another r loose tile and look for a name printed on the reverse side

Options for removing surround / gas fireplace

If you’re certain it’s capped then yes. No special tools should be required. You should install a vent in the unused chimney part though, otherwise you may get damp.

No hot water then very hot water!

Yes it will need doing/looking at. It could be the motor, diverter valve itself or both.

Is it a whole mechanism? Anything printed on the face where the latch is? If nothing, maybe take to a local lock company.

Trying to identify my underfloor heating cold tails

Ok, well those cables are touching the pipe and should be 25mm away from it. I don’t the think I’ve heard electric tails being called cold before. What I think you need to do is either contact the previous homeowner if possible or investigate more where the cables run.

Why is my worchester boss firing when 2 degrees above set temp?

Could be a faulty sensor then, or poorly positioned.

Why is my worchester boss firing when 2 degrees above set temp?

Not sure then, could be to do with weather compensation but I have no knowledge in this area, sorry.
