Hi, I am looking to wire up an outside light within the next few months (PIR flood light, 400w). I was hoping to create a spur off the lighting circuit (protected by 5amp fuse) in the loft - once i calculate the amp draw of the light itself - and then run cable outside the house to the light...

Well i've managed to get air out of one of the radiators that i was having trouble with, and now it works fine. However - with all the other rads in the house closed apart from the final troublesome one downstairs - the pump seems to be pushing hot water back up the central heating feed rather...

I was getting cold spots in some of my rads downstairs. The cold water tank had a lot of sediment at the bottom, so i felt it wouldn't really hurt to drain and fill the hot water cylinder while i was at it? I got a bit of sediment out of it towards the end of the drain.

Hi, Thanks for the help. Do i just take the cap off the front and then bleed from the screw underneath? The pump is a Myson Compact CP-53 I checked the boiler all over earlier and there doesn't appear to be a bleed valve, so i'll have to use the make-shift one from the drain cock. Boiler...

Yes the system was off for two days before draining and the hot water cylinder had lukewarm water...if that! Thanks for the help :) Great forum!

Okay, thanks for the advice. Do you think it was okay when the hot water cylinder was flushed? I seem to think that wouldn't affect it because as i understand it; there is a coil that runs through the hot water tank and the water within that coil is fed by the F&E tank. So emptying the hot...

Hi, I used a hacksaw and managed to get both olives out (had to hack part way through the old valve) but the copper pipe underneath was left unmarked, thankfully! :) Fitted new valve, tested for leaks and filled cold water tank without issue.

Hi guys, First off, thanks for the quick replies. I realised soon after posting that the olive wasn't stuck on the thread...doh! :oops: Anyhow, the valve is on the cold feed from the cold water tank. There is still some play in the pipe at the top so damaging the connection to the cold...
