    Rads heating on HW circuit

Madrab. As you will see other than being a cramped space with the red gate valve in question as you predicted, the pump as others have noted on a previous post, is on the return circuit And that the pump is at the wrong angle …

    Rads heating on HW circuit

The boiler is a potterton suprema 80L. I’ve gone through the manual online and don’t see any reference to a bypass valve but maybe those familiar with the boiler will know better

    Rads heating on HW circuit

A close look at that photo shows a 15mm flow and return pipe going to the bathroom radiator and not Tee-ing off the CH loop. Think that confirms your suspicions ‘Oldbutnotdead’ Is the solution therefore to join the bathroom pipework into the main CH loop after the zone valves and have all rads...

    Rads heating on HW circuit

Thank you, it is the bathroom rad that’s heating up so sounds like you could be absolutely correct. I took some photos before the new floor went down so I’ll dig them out

    Rads heating on HW circuit

Trying to get to the bottom of this issue - A couple of radiators get absolutely boiling when the HW circuit is on which I don’t want. Have been told it could have been plumbed that way as was the trend to always have a hot rad to dry towels without having CH system on in summer. Above the...

    Filler bubbling on internal walls

It’s new about a week ago and kept air tight. The walls were all given a mist coat then a normal strength undercoat. I feel it must be the type of paint that was originally on the wall that’s not letting it stick

    Filler bubbling on internal walls

Just to add. Today I removed the old filler in places and keyed the surface and re filled - this evening there are small blisters again on the surface which suggest it’s not going to stick

    Filler bubbling on internal walls

Painting the house and in several rooms where I’ve used filler - once sanded down when I come to undercoat the filler is lifting off on the roller ... could the previous paint be an oil based paint or not? if so is the solution to coat the wall with one of the Zinsser products and if so which...

Potterton Suprima 80 - No Hot Water

I have a Potterton Suprima 80, which has of yesterday not firing up for the call for HW from the programmer. The zone valves (Honeywell V4043H) as a complete unit were replaced a couple of weeks back and were functioning as expected when tested with both the HW and CH circuits. When calling for...

Zone valve / Hot rads issue

Having read a bit more Ive come across whats been described as 'Gravity Flow' which to stop this there is a check valve on the radiator loop - am I going off in the wrong direction with this line of thought. I have some pics of the pipework immediately above the boiler which may make sense to...
