I have a Potterton Suprima 80, which has of yesterday not firing up for the call for HW from the programmer.
The zone valves (Honeywell V4043H) as a complete unit were replaced a couple of weeks back and were functioning as expected when tested with both the HW and CH circuits.
When calling for CH it fires up and runs correctly but when the HW is calling sits with the orange light as in standby mode.
Ive forced the zone valve open and the water pumps with a green flashing light but then stops and returns to the orange light after approx one minute...
Any thoughts otherwise its going to be another cold shower in the morning !!!

if the boiler fires for heating you have an external control fault, either programmer or Cyl thermostat

Hello again Ian, so not the dreaded PCB thankfully. Im just connecting up the immersion heater now so that should eliminate the Cylinder thermostat from the equation ?

Immersion heater is an element that is used as a backup to heat up your cylinder. Cylinder thermostat is on a strap (a bit like a net curtain wire) attached to the cylinder usually 1/3 to 1/4 from the base.

You're absolutely right. Im tearing what little hair I have left, out ...

Ian, how straightforward Or otherwise is testing the Cylinder thermostat ? Be good to know if that’s causing the problem or whether it is as you suggest possibly the controller ?
