Motorized valve stuck in open position.

To clarify, the downstairs stat isn't calling for heat but the upstairs stat is, so the boiler is on? When that's the case and the downstairs stat isn't calling for heat and the valve's light is off the downstairs rads will still heat up? If so, when you turn off both of the stats and the...

    Brass to copper solder?

It shouldn't, 3 bar is more than enough to blast the hair off of anyone's head as long as the pressure is maintained when run. I.E. it has a well sustained dynamic pressure.

    Brass to copper solder?

As long as the flexi's are WRAS approved then they shouldn't have an issue with normal hot (~55 degC) or cold water, same with the pressure as they would usually be rated to at least 6 bar. FYI a 5 bar dynamic mains pressure would usually be reduced to 3 bar just to minimise the stress on...

    Brass to copper solder?

What are you trying to do? Is this just to put 3/8" tap flexi's onto 15mm hot and cold feeds? If so the brass 3/8" adapters you have linked to fit into a standard 15mm ISO compression valve, nothing else needed.

Replacing tiled shower floor with shower tray

Kudos do a tray called the connect 2 that allows for multiple connect configurations. Not sure if that might work? https://bathroomshopuk.co.uk/product/kudos-connect-2-slip-square-rectangular-resistant-shower-tray/

    Has Hep2o changed since 2013?

If they look like this then no they haven't changed. HEP are known to be stubborn sometimes though when trying to demount and can take the insert with them making them unusable.

    Soil pipe connections

+1 - that underground coupler wont sit/seal on the cast properly, you need a tight joint, Fernco/flexiseal is the one for that. Clean the cast up too before connecting.

Gas Meter and boiler pipe sizing

Unfortunately it's not one for the forum, we have no idea what the current pipe sizing is, how much of the current pipe is 22mm and how much is 15mm. Really hard too for the installers to know if the pipe is all encased in concrete. All that could be done is a pressure test with the current...

Water splashing out of drain appliance

No, a trap wouldn't affect whether the pipe would back up or not, either the pipe's restricted, the drain hose isn't far enough in or there's too much water volume. Of course, standards dictate that it should have a trap, if nothing else to stop sewer gases from escaping.

Replacing tiled shower floor with shower tray

You now want to waterproof the whole section, how that's done is up to you. Yes, the Mapei kit could probably do it but it all depnds on the surface finish once you cut that floor and board back. The Mapei kit is a polymer membrane that's painted on and comes with a primer and tape but you need...

    Annoying shower leak

That tray isn't sealed properly between the tray and tile on the outside, at the blue arrow, hope that isn't indicative of the tray to tile seal inside the shower. The silicone should run all the way behind the tray against the wall and all the way to the end of the tile/tray edge and then down...

    Help with this fixing!

+1 - they are the old standard JG fittings, they have exactly the same end as the current stop ends, tap/valve ends and flexi pipes etc, there is no nut that unscrews, like the modern speedfit twist and lock fittings. There isn't a locking collet in there either, it would be between the white...

    Help with this fixing!

They are old JG pushfit and that's exactly how you release them. Push in the white collar, the trouble is those one tend to become very stubborn after they've been in for a long time and the teeth and dug in and become reluctant to release. Get a pair of pliers that have the curved part in the...

    Boiler Issues

Not sure why he said that. All boiler's should be fed by a common mains supply. I would suspect that the fused switched unit beside the timer feeds power to the timer and that should also feed power the boiler, through that switch on the wall beside the boiler. Then there should be a separate...

UFH how to change blending valve

Are both manifolds serviced by the same Blending valve and pump assembly? Normally there would be one for each. You will need to isolate the manifold and valve/pump assembly from the CH system and depressurise the UFH before it can all be disconnected.

Replacing tiled shower floor with shower tray

I set a shower tray into the floor not so long ago so with the tiles and ditra mat and EUFH then the tray is now level with the floor tile. Looking at your joists again though, they look like I joists, If so then that wouldn't work as batons would need to be added to the side of the joists...

Replacing tiled shower floor with shower tray

Wow - yup, seems they created quite a few issues over time with water ingress. Do you want the tray sitting on top of the floor level or have you considered dropping the tray in so it ends up level with the floor?

Options for removing surround / gas fireplace

Get a chimney specialist in to survey and recommend a suitable approach to the chimney, they can be areas for damp accumulation or debris depending on it's condition. If it had been used for solid fuel previously and then a gas fire fitted then it should have already been swept clean as part...
