    Stop the carnival

Does the carnival benefit the residents of Notting Hill in any way?

    Don't be silly! Haha!

    Bitumen corrugated roofing sheets

That's a bigger question. Is it our duty to rectify all potential hazards when renovating properties? Sometimes the expense involved is prohibitive, is it not?

Genuine question - how difficult can it be?

You'll be lambasted by the pros for choosing a pre-mixed adhesive, but I once used a Mapei ready-mix and lived to tell the tale. If your walls are true and you've prepped them correctly, you should be okay. Maybe you should interpret the fact that your tiler let you down as a message from the...

    Bitumen corrugated roofing sheets

I'm guessing just the standard stainless roofing screws with rubber grommets and caps? Given that you're working with fairly fragile sheets, you need to be careful not to screw them down too hard. Anyone else?

Tanking a shower area against tray

I've just read that plaster board adhesive (the powder mix) can be used? IDK!

    Women's football hurts my ears!

Rod Stewart released a double A side single. I think it was 'Que Sera Sera' (spelling?) and 'I'd Walk a Million Miles for One of your Goals'?

    Damp spots after painting

Are you painting internal dividing walls or the main walls of your house? If any of the walls incorporate a chimney breast, salts can present a problem.

UPVC trim on Aluminium Windows? Acceptable or Rejectable?

My brother has just had several high-end aluminium units fitted, including a bi-fold door. The new back door has a 10mm + gap each side that's filled with expanding foam and silicone. This has been crudely covered with large UPVC quadrant, which I don't feel is acceptable. As always, I'd be very...

    Women's football hurts my ears!

Noted, but with the discussion surrounding whether power and weight were relevant to success in Women's football, I found this stat quite interesting. Looking at the England forward line in particular, I noticed that they dominated the aerial battles v Spain. Perhaps that physical edge also gave...

    Women's football hurts my ears!

My mum bought me the 1978 Scotland world cup kit. It was in the bargain bin at our local sports shop. I've still got Rod Stewart's supporting single somewhere too.

Tanking a shower area against tray

I'm bedding a shower tray down this week. The manufacturers recommend bedding down on blobs of mortar, but I removed a tray a few years back and the cement blobs beneath it had dried and crumbled away leaving areas of the tray unsupported. Can anyone suggest an alternative? Thanking you kindly!

So the tallest team did actually win the tournament. Interesting.

    Women's football hurts my ears!

It's great that women's football is getting good coverage. That may be because it's a cheap option for the broadcasters, but if it inspires females of all ages to get into a sport, that's a very good thing.

    Women's football hurts my ears!

My lad played for Norwich at U16. It's an incredibly physical game, and the lads are taught to be intimidating in order to get the upper hand psychologically. It's a simple point of fact that no female would ever have been able to compete in that merciless arena. It's about weight, power and...
