Thats a very good point as amatuer i would say the red is the live and the black neutral wire is being used as switched live but yeah as you point out its not its a black switch wire and thats it

So if i swap the twin and earth drop thats currently there which is a (live and neutral being using as a switch live , for 3 core and earth where do i go from there

Also yeah the cable is pritty old and its on a old board but for now it really is going to have to do with the small upgrades then it will be getting someone in to do the main work at the board and such

ok i understand now so your not suppose to add a fcu to a socket that has already been just ran off on a single 2.5mm cable and is not part of the ring the way to do it would be change the socket that has been ran off the single length of 2.5mm to a fcu then add further sockets after that...

Yeah this one is kind of correct but its not coming out the back of a socket on the ring its coming from a break/juction box in the ring So you cant break into a ring run a single lenght of 2.5mm to a new double socket the spur off that socket with fcu

Ow so if a double socket has already been ran on a radial spur in 2.5mm from a ring main circuit you cant then add a fuse spur unit from that socket ?
