    British Gas - Boiler Deals

Ive obviously been quite fortunate so far. Mind you, on reflection, I had a really loud noise everytime the water or heating clicked on. BG said that it was the central heating pipes that had furred up and the whole system would require flushing which they did not cover. I did explain that...

Yes the top and bottom are completely open. Its an empty cupboard and the door just hides the boiler. What does NCS stand for?

For the same reason that I couldn`t have full surround sound! Wife doesn`t want unsightly speakers and, in the case of the kitchen, boiler on display!

Thanks. Glad that is the case. Looking at a lot of new build properties they all seemed to have the boilers on display.

I can only comment on BG as experienced, I can see from some of the responses that they are not everyone's cup of tea! I live in Bedfordshire so if anyone knows of a reputable installer I would be very pleased to receive a name / number. In my earlier post I enquired about my current...

My current boiler is situated in my kitchen and sits behind a kitchen door to disguise it. Is it correct that this doesn`t meet current regulations and that the boiler should be on view without any obstruction?

This very true and I am so suspicious of getting in any tradesman because you hear so many horror stories. The cowboys drag down the good honest tradesman with them.

I know there will be a warranty on the boiler for the first year but Im sure it wouldn`t cover 24hr call out would it? Im not surprised that there will be many that have not received good service from BG but I have always found them reliable. Its the same though with any major organisation...

I am considering changing my current boiler, an Ideal Classic NF40, which is over 15yrs old and getting British Gas to quote for a new one. As a Homecare 200 member there are savings offered but I wondered what opinions the forum has on getting BG to do the install? Also, am I likely...

Adding Security Light To Existing Wiring

Got round to fitting extra security light and the junction box / wiring. Now await darkness to see if garden and side gate will shine in 150w light or whether my house will ignite in one big explosion!!

Adding Security Light To Existing Wiring

Thanks - just seen some. The purpose of the glands? Is it to stop water getting into the junction box? Presumably I take the wire from the mains supply into the junction box then feed the two security lights from the junction box?
