    Shallow pitch composite slate system

I haven’t measured the rise as it’s enclosed but my guess is less than 15%.

    Shallow pitch composite slate system

Hello I’ve got a shallow pitch slate roof over the utility room (7 sq m) and have had various problems, so now want to get it sorted once and for all. A roofer has suggested replacing either with Flexitec GRP or any easy slate system (which he he says will address the capillary action...

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

10mm is the supply into a small ‘sub’ CU that controls the kitchen/extension When the kitchen gets done I’m interested in having two double ovens and maybe an induction hob. It’s currently gas so there’ll need to be a cable out and I read anything over 15kW should be 10mm. Probably only...

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

Thanks. So long as it’s not 6mm I can at least think about electric ovens.

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

So my builder turned the main switch off and disconnected the neutral at the extension consumer unit to have a look.. Here's how 6mm and 10mm lugs match up. The 6mm definitely doesn't fit, even the 10mm one looked tight. Can 6mm be eliminated from the enquiry? Thanks 6mm and 10mm 10mm

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

This is the main electric cupboard. The supply in splits: 1. The CU serves the rest of the house. 2. The Mains Switch (bottom left) runs to the smaller CU in the extension. (I’m aware that the cable isn’t RCD protected and should be). At the other end, the cable has a 100A 30ma RCD at...

22mm OSB3 vs Ply bathroom subfloor

EDIT - sorry saw your earlier #6 post after I posted! Have a look at NoMorePly 22mm TG4 construction board straight on to joists. No need for tile backerboard so doesn't raise the height. Also no need for nogging support at the joins. They do 18mm too. I'm ready to glue/screw and it's...

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

The cable feeds a separate CU that powers the extension (kitchen and bedroom). I had posted previously about switching from gas to electric ovens as I had assumed it was 6mm. Then it occurred to me that even 25 years ago they might have used 10mm so took a photo, hence this post.

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

Thanks for the contributions and ideas. I might go into my electrical supply shop and ask them to show me both to see if that helps . (y)

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

I went left and right and found the same stamp - nothing in between

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

Already did (see my first post) - BASEC WESSEL 1999) Definitely no size - scraped it both sides!

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

@Rodders53. I’d feel more confident in the dimensions if it was new cable but it’s old white stuff and I don’t know if manufacturing practices/specs changed over time.

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

I read that too but there’s newer grey 6mm with standard earth!

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

Thanks, but as it’s live and I’m not an electrcian I would be wary about disconnecting it.

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

Just looking at this: DIYNOT cable sizes This suggests it’s too big for 6mm but could overall cable sizes have reduced over the years?

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

Thanks. Can’t see any other mark on it (other than above) and it’s live. Not an electrican so don’t want to touch anything.

Is this 6mm or 10mm cable?

Hello Am wondering if you can tell from the pictures whether this is 6mm or 10mm cable? It looks to be printed with WESSEL BASEC 1999 but I can’t see a size. All cores are stranded, the sheathing is 19-20mm by about 10mm. Thanks

NMP TG4 - to glue or not to glue?

So I think I’ve reached the point of no return with a wetroom. The floor is NoMorePly 22mm TG4 construction board on joists and as well as screwing them down you have to run a line of adhesive along the joists. I’m just worried that once it’s glued down, there’s no going back (At least I...

Cable size for two ovens and a hob from extension CU with 6mm supply

I meant in the context of 10mm following the same route as the 6mm, but I can see how it gets there is irrelevant. As you say it's 'start again' or find a way to get the 10mm up to the Ext CU and a 6mm down. But at least just the one 6mm! Thanks
