    The nut will be imperial because the ballcock is 1/2 BSP and the nut is screwed onto it. It won't make any difference to what you want to do..Just change the ballcock and add an isolating valve.

    Yes........i think they are making a mountain out of a molehill. All the threads are BSP and in any case 15mm and old imperial will fit each other. Just undo the nut on the inlet.remove ballvalve and fit new.Add an isolating valve and job done in 15 min's.

    You didn't need the black section of pipe as the flexi would probably have fitted into the pipe with the collar.You would then also not have an uphill run.

    Or just fit a £5, 22mm bent tap connector.....compression of course. Add an isolating valve and you have the same thing.......lol Them prices are a rip off. I probably have one in my boxes of spares and will have a look later.

    I fitted a chinese made, woodburner with back boiler once,and the fittings were that same as yours....ecentric.I had to use a load of hemp to make it seal properly..

    That looks like a badly machined fitting and is why it will not tighten up flush.
