Thanks. Without a model number on the existing, can you shed light on the likely make?

My external, surface-mounted box is knackered. Judging by the sizes alone it seems to be a Mitras MK1. Does that look to be true (can't find a model on the existing)? I'd like to buy a replacement cover but I can't see how the existing cover would detach, even though it's clearly separate...

Thanks. Its getting access that's the issue - I know its dry within the cavity just above the ceiling (in the loft) so its coming in lower than that. I'll check the mortar fillets that the end slates have been bedded onto along the edge of the gable. Thanks. I was just wondering what a bridge...

the point is, there is no "out" to run off into as its always been rendered. Admittedly, my focus is on finding the source of the issue. The outer kin also has what appears to be a layer of felt stuck to it (on the inside, of course) as some sort of vertical membrane, though not sure what good...

thanks for the info. why bridge a cavity? with a brick exterior I get that a cavity tray is used, but rendered? There's nowhere for the water to go (ie no weep holes). Anyway, having looked at pics of a boot lintel that's not what I have...the outer skin's lintel is a full 12" high (I can't...

I have rain coming down the inside face of the outer skin of my rendered house. I can JUST about see up into the cavity above the window that is in the damp wall, having removed the plaster from the window reveal. With a torch I can see what I think is a horizontal sheet of what looks like slate...

Nice...sadly they're even more expensive than the Marshalls ones, so far as I can tell.

I like the look of Marshalls Old Mill Sunset bricks, but they're pretty expensive (I think so anyway). Do you know of alternatives that have that "cottagey" look to them? Thanks

I'm looking to build a pond in the garden (where else?) and I thought it'd be cool to have a glass panel basically ON the water that you could walk over (a bridge to the greenhouse, to be exact) Any ideas as to what to search for online? I'm not sure where to start! TIA

I sorted it out....the issue was the pipe taking it all away was a little too level...I made mods to the whole setup and have a better fall on the system. Cheers guys

the inlet for the WM is slightly below the level of the waste pipe, as you can perhaps see from the picture....surely the WM is trying to push water uphill...no wonder it can't escape quickly enough...

As title....I have and when the WM empties it sends pretty foul smelly water up into the sink. I've checked the trap for blockages. How might I modify this so it doesn't stink up the kitchen?

I'd never go back to disposable now I've got a gun. The tip of mine blocks when it dries but just scrape off with a knife and you're away. It's never blocked the tube itself. So much more controllable, too.
