They’re usually ok to work on hot water as they circulate around the plate heat exchanger same as using it in summer mode. Your mates must have been something different. They usually have sensors/ntcs to prevent overheating
It depends, if it’s not too far down to the drain connection, then maybe upgrade to pvc to that point and use a cast to pvc adapter, eg Fernco. If not a viable option, then maybe x2 fernco, a bossed pipe or piece of pipe and strap boss.
That looks like it’s been bodged onto a cast iron soil pipe and then bodged even further with the bath waste and loads of silicone. Were you feeding and tending to the horse whilst the work was being done?
At this stage,I’m not entirely sure. Probably just the domestic stuff like wiring and lighting. I work in social housing and have some basic knowledge but would like to back myself more when talking about things.
