Flood lights - can anyone recommend a really good make/model that lasts more than a couple of years?

Thanks for the advice so far. Have been doing some hunting for LED PIR flood lights that are actually repairable and found this Danic: light: https://www.cwberry.com/danic-dnfl430p-30w-4000k-repairable-led-floodlight-with-ip65-pir there's also a non-PIR version on that site. Does anyone have...

Flood lights - can anyone recommend a really good make/model that lasts more than a couple of years?

M latest Osram LEDVANCE floodlight is starting to fail on me (very dim output) but because of the way it's sealed it's impossible to get inside the damn thing. So it's time to buy another flood light. I have two like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FNN5BFC but while that one in...

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Thanks, I didn't know that. Before I used the Osmo Oil I emailed the manufacturer and mentioned the intended use and they said it would be fine ........ but I guess not.

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

It's too damp, I'd need a flamethrower. :) In fact, the rest of the slats are fine, it's just that one which has a problem (at the moment ......... ).

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Thanks, I didn't know that! I'll avoid that wood in the future. Are there any replacement slats that I CAN buy 'off the shelf' which, while not the ones you recommend, would be fairly close?

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Thanks guys, I'll see if I can find a replacement slat online that's the same wood (apparently it's Swedish Redwood). BTW, this is the bench: https://wooden-garden-furniture.com/shop/garden-furniture/wooden-garden-and-patio-benches/simply-wood-imperial-bench/ Or maybe I'll just go for any...

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

The seat of my five year old wooden bench has developed a soft spot in one of the slats, see photo. I was going to gouge it out and perhaps fill it with something suitable but the area either side of it for two or three inches is also slightly soft. To give some sense of scale to the photo...

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

Thanks a good point about the worktop - thankfully it's in the utility room so it's just some wood (not chipboard) covered with some kind of vinyl.

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

They don't for the dryer I was thinking of buying, that's the problem. :) I've looked at generic advice online and it varies a lot - for example some say that maybe an inch either side and 4 or 5 inches at the back is okay, but that you need a foot above the unit ...... on the other hand some...

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

Next question - what sort of gap should be around a heat pump tumble dryer? Where I plan to put it the gap would only be about 5cm for the sides, maybe 8cm at the back and about 8cm at the top (it will be sitting under a shelf). Is all that enough or do I need to find a smaller dryer?

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

On the subject of energy efficiency ratings for tumble dryers - is there a huge difference between A+ A++ and A+++ or is it just a small, hardly noticeable difference between each increment?

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

I just read a few reviews of heat pump dryers in general and some people have had them run just fine at under 10 celcius, the room I plan to put mine inside is usually anywhere between 10 to 15 celcius in winter when the heating is off, a bit higher when the small radiator in that room comes on.

Thanks for the additional replies which gives me some useful info and more to ponder, very much appreciated. Whatever I go for I'll certainly avoid Hoover. :)

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

Are heat pump dryers really that unreliable? I didn't know that. Thanks. How about condenser dryers? Are they more reliable than a heat pump dryer?

Defrost cycle - over 10 Celcius?

Just to say that ice does form on the inner back panel prior to a defrost cycle.

Defrost cycle - over 10 Celcius?

I was thinking the same, but the kitchen temps have been similar to today's for a while now (sometimes even warmer) and yet the defrost temp hasn't gone up so high. Although over the years it has done this before, but not for some time and not to 10C (sometimes 8 or 9 instead).
