    ****ty life

Hey Koolpc, Sorry to hear that things are still a bit of a struggle. You mentioned you had too much in savings - May I ask what you’re saving for? While I appreciate everyone one needs a bit of money for a rainy day, from what you describe, it feels like it’s raining for you right now mate...

Buying a mini-digger - DIY madness or good idea?

I am happy with the purchase - it's seen plenty of action over the past couple of years, and will have some more jobs to do with it this spring/summer. From a convenience point of view it's been great to be able to roll it out as and when I want it, even for smaller jobs where you'd never...

    Roof to wall Connection

As a DIYer that's done a few 'bigger' jobs myself, please take this advice as someone that's been in your position rather than someone trying to criticise. Please do spend the money and get someone to draw you some proper plans. You don't need an architect, but you do need someone that can do...

    What have you bought today?

I was starting to buy some spare parts for my track/race car, in case I have any run ins with other cars or walls…then my man maths decided that a whole spare car would be a better purchase. Here’s my other one :D

    F1 2026

As a long time FI fan, I think this is just too gimmicky with the new rules. As Alonso said the other day, it's now the "battery world championship"

What have you been doing today?

That’ll be nice to be able to revisit some of your wife’s old haunts too. There will be tens of thousands cheering along the route so you would have thought he would have been happy for some home supporters…maybe not in pink though Not sure of the Paris route, but hopefully you can move...

What have you been doing today?

Yeah, vets are a complete racket now...lots of big business/private equity getting into buying practices now, which drives the costs up. We also have an Air Tag on Milka as she likes to go walkabouts - would suggest they'd be good purchases for your daughter (Samsung do an equivalent. It's not...

What have you been doing today?

We have one of those for our cat as well…very handy for keeping her in at night. Might need to start keeping her in during the day as well, as we live on a popular dog walking route and she’s taken to picking fights with dogs.

Slow going - my double storey extension build

Thanks, yeah I learnt my lesson from the extension when it came to the ridge tiles, but thankfully it was only about an inch to be cut off the final tile, so I just did it because it was barely visible from the floor. Good shout about the saw - my mate had mentioned there were similar jigsaw...

Slow going - my double storey extension build

Hi all, Another couple of months have passed so about time for another update. I'd been waiting for a clear and dry day to fit the dry ridge on the roof, as the first step is sticking a breathable (i think) membrane down over the ridge batten of the roof. You then lay your ridge tile, bang one...

    Unemployment

To put the article into context: 2024 ONS data shows unemployment rates by highest qualification: Graduates: ≈ 3.1 % Non-graduates: ≈ 5.6 % Therefore you are nearly twice as unlikely to be unemployed if you graduate from uni. Obviously there may also be a disconnect between the type of job...
