Gas detection re water leak for parent loathe to let people in - insurance or direct?

You need a main stop tap anyway, and having one, is the only way to determine whether the leak is internal to the house, or between the Thames valve, and the house - your underground supply pipe. Basically - you turn your new stop tap off, then see if the meter continues to wizz round. If it...

Two part question : Has anybody used a decking kit and are they worth it? / Is decking a good idea in this area.

Weeds in the grass, will be killed by regular mowing. If you keep an eye on Facebook, there are always people giving away slabs, free for collection.

    Square O rings?

It's OK paying £9 for the correct item, but buying and making do with an O ring kit, if it works, you then have a stock to cover future repairs, should they be needed. I fixed our kitchen tap spout around a decade ago, which had an odd shaped seal, lubricating it with a bit of grease - it has...

Bosch condenser dryer not drying after support wheels fixed

Mine ran without any problems, for a very long time, until the 'radiator' (name?), leaked at the front. At great expense, I had that replaced, it checked for leaks, and topped back up - whereupon, it failed again within months, loosing all its gas. Rather than paying someone to sort it out, I...

No, the 'rolling diameter', is quite different to the measured radius. If the radius didn't deform, the tyre would have a tiny contact patch, with the road.

Thank you for that well considered, rather obvious, and unnecessary response, to an old thread. Without your advice, we would never have known that.

    Incorrect soil stack install?

I was so 'enthralled' by the 'water slide' pipe, I didn't even notice the smaller bath/basin pipes. What an unbelievable mess they made of those too. I wonder if the same people, botched the glass, in that roof too?

Gas detection re water leak for parent loathe to let people in - insurance or direct?

Yes, in an easily accessible location. Turning that off, should stop the water meter racking up consumption, and cost.

    Square O rings?

Lidl often sell a box of various sizes of o rings, for half of that. Worth trying round ones, which if they prove to thick, a too small one stretched in place, will make it thinner.

Gas detection re water leak for parent loathe to let people in - insurance or direct?

Perhaps an underground leak, especially if it's an old pipe. Is the floor a solid one, suspended timber, or is there a basement? If suspended timber, best to check under the floor, for a flood, which can be quite damaging. The water authority, should have been able to check whether they could...

RCD Type for UV Pond Filter

It needs to have its own circuit, not on the main house RCD, but on either an RCD, or RCBO, located at the source of the supply. That would avoid the entire house supply being tripped. Useful, would be to also have it supply something none essential, though more obvious - when it did trip, so...
