    Pure water window cleaning kit

Once you start using a DI cylinder you really need to keep using it. If you leave it wet you get bacterial growth within a week or two that stops the resin from working, and once the resin is wet its not practical to dry it. If its dry and sealed it lasts for a couple of years, but i'd imagine...

UK won't allow drilling the North Sea but now buying Oil from Russia

Am i missing something here? The government won't allow new drilling in the North Sea, but have now allowed the purchase of refined oil products of Russian origin and the direct import of LNG. Norway is actually reopening oil and gas fields in the north sea, directly adjacent to our reserves...

    England council results

The process man is sticking to the process. He's apparently told the cabinet that Labour has a process to trigger a leadership challenge and no one has initiated the process so he's not leaving. I think he's dragging it out so that Burnham has a chance to stand as an MP.

    England council results

What i find amazing is that the Labour party want Starmer to move to the left, at a time when more and more of their traditional voters are moving to the right. I really don't see 'more Europe' being popular with a significant number of voters that aren't already labour supporters, so it's a...

    Buying a car online?

I'd never buy an 11 year old car without seeing it first. I've bought quite a few cars from mail dealers unseen, but they were always less than a year old, still with manufacturers warranty and manufacturer approved used cars. But buying something 11 years old unseen would be too much of a risk...

How can I heat the hot water towel rails without putting the heating on ?

I have a towel radiator that is heated by the central heating in the winter and a 600w electric element in the summer. I control the electric element with a wifi relay that also measures power consumption. I turn it on for an hour and twenty minutes each day around the time we finish showering...

    Filtering chemicals

It will depend on how much grease it dissolves each time its used. Once its saturated it won't dissolve any more irrelevant of how many times the manufacturer says it can be used.

    Filtering chemicals

If there is grease visible in the degreaser, then surely you've saturated the solvent and its not going to degrease any more. I certainly have never heard of anyone being able to filter out dissolved grease. Unless it's lumps of grease that haven't dissolved.

    Another attack

Interesting that people seem to think the police used too much force to wrestle the knife off the terrorist. I'm glad that Mark Rowley has actually stood up to Zac Polanski over his comments about it. Also interesting for the people that think the police used too much force, that if this...

Hairline cracks on wall...how to fix? Advice needed please.

I'd rake out the crack into a slight V and fill with a flexible cauk. It won't be perfect, but will be better than you have now.

    Starmer's treachery

If he has technically resigned, its only because he was told by the PM and the Foreign Secretary that they'd lost confidence in him. Apparently, Olly Robbins wasn't even promoted to be permanent secretary of the foreign office until after Mandelson had been appointed ambassador. Starmer may be...

    Starmer's treachery

Olly Robbins has been made the scapegoat and sacked. Surely Starmer will have to resign now that he’s mislead the country by stating that Mandelson had passed the vetting process.

Fuel floods out of mower when i pour it in

Petrol is less dense than water. If the float is full of petrol it will float in water.

Roof Opinion on Possible House Purchase - Rosemary Tiles Circa 1910

The roof looks similar to our 1920s build, but you have no torching. My parents bought a 1920’s build in the 80s and the survey said the Rosemary tiled roof was nearing the end of its life. The same roof is still on 40 years later and has no leaks and has needed no maintenance. Our survey 15...
