This is all on a retro fit so not by new build standard this is the issue when i try to understand on here and folk talk about floor insulation there is no floor insulation as like i say its a part retro fit so im fitting a dpc but not going the whole hog and redoing all the internal floors

Internal damp proof course on the inner skin at 1 brick from ground level not finished floor level ground level and external dpc set at 5 bricks high

I will get a picture of what i have tomorrow but basically my external dpc is say 5 bricks high and my door sill is set on the 4 the brick

If its a cavity wall the internal and external dpc dont have to be the same

Hi guys using this image as a example if my dpc is set at the purple mark would this be a issue with the door ? should the door and dpc be on the same line on the yellow ?

Ive had the full frame and door out ive rebuilt parts on both side so i needed to redrill new holes Like i say the frame is level upright

Yeah i do have it level well "plumb" but what ever you call left to right lol

Also ive just came to the kitchen area which was a build as a later add on on the house which also has had damp issues... I see this has dpc fitted but it is one brick up from the ffl so i would presume the brick below is getting damp and has been bridging on the cavity..

Ahh that helps alot thanks so i need to take my inner course down more as at the moment i have a pocket or should i just fill it in ? Then i lap the dpm like this ? Thanks

Do a block left and right side of the cavity below floor level ?

Thanks for your help im trying to work out how you mean the floor this comes into is not going to be all broken up and there is no insulation under it

You can see on here the dpc is at the ffl ive put min at the purple line yet my ffl is 2 bricks above will this matter

Hi guys so some members already might of seen posts from me on here of late im doing a refurb of this 100 year old house its had issues all over with rising damp for many years after opening up the cavitys i found they where totally blocked with black rubbish which i presume fell down there...

lol yeah its not in a river but below the outside road level and always had a history of rising damp as it was my late grans house so i kind of want to make sure i fully solve the issue
