    Are you sure it's asbestos? On our old garage we thought the roof sheets were asbestos so called the council who came out and took a sample to test - it came back as cement based so it was ok to remove and skip

    Well after reading these replies i've removed the hard wiring to the socket and refitted the plug which now sit in the plug hole as intended. The extension is attached to the wall out of the way and i'm trying to get in touch with an electrician to come and fit some extra sockets properly...

    I've fitted an extension with 4 outlets and wired it into the plug socket from the back instead of using the plug on the end of the cable into the front of the socket - is this ok? The sockets are in the garage which has it's own fuse box
