    Issue with hired electrician

I called NICEIC this morning; they said no need for EIC if only CU replaced and there has been no modification or added sockets. But said building reg compliance notification is required, assume from local council, they said to wait for a month, contact them if any issues.

    Issue with hired electrician

I've been to the property today, my builder said electrician spent 3 hours there only replacing CU and didn't go to other rooms. My previous electrician who did the eicr 5 yrs ago tested all sockets and light fittings, I was present and took him 3 hrs. Has eicr testing methods changed?

    Issue with hired electrician

The agreed price was for CU and EICR. He gave invoice full agreed price but doesn't state eicr. Not sure what @ericmark is about. The property is empty with full access to all sockets/switches/fittings inc boilers and gas meters. The bottom lime; I am landlord, called niceic electrician...

I never do DIY in tenanted properties, I need to hire someone and see what's best, I know either trim or put some angled metal at the back.

    Gap between cooker and wall

I think cooker / worktop is tight fit, seems he didn't cut it straight, he even damaged worktop because wrong/worn blade and no tape. He should have left 2mm gap each side but it's like push fit!

That's the purpose of the post. Splashback angles won't look good plus it's made of vinyl not heat resistant; has to be metal not sure if I can use timber?

    Gap between cooker and wall

This is an old pic of the kitchen with the gas hob, I don't have a close up but can be guessed the hob was sitting on the worktop, but foolishly he cut the worktop part behind the hob; exactly where salt/pepper pots sit in the photo and that's why we have the gap now.

    Gap between cooker and wall

He did it wrong, the worktop was extending behind the cooker area but he carelessly cut it out without doing his calculations; hence we ended by the gap otherwise would have been perfect. There was gas hob before siting on the worktop before.

    Gap between cooker and wall

Then he shouldn't have taken the job, he's been to the property to quote for the works. He knew what's required.

    Gap between cooker and wall

There is nothing behind cooker. I called him, he came he took it out but couldn't push it back and he left as it is, pathetic. He cut plinth with multitool. I was shocked, he was lazy to get jigsaw from the van!
