    Fitting aerial inside

I have my own aerial and mounting one on the chimney is not a hard job as access out onto the roof is easy. My issue is threading the cable through the roof space. It looks like i will need to go in through the ridge caps possibly. The whole flat is open as you can see, so just got to work...

    Fitting aerial inside

Yes doing 75mm between the rafter and 50mm under. On the walls it will be 75mm. The tower is so close to this property. It is a few hundred meters away as the crow flies and is on a hill looking down on this street. So the signal is strong.

    Fitting aerial inside

I know you can have an aerial in the loft, but is there any distance from a wall it needs to be set away from ? I have a tightish cupboard area which will hold the boiler, washing machine and fuse board on a flat i am renovating. I was thinking of putting the aerial in there as well. The...

Boiler pressure dropped today (after i charged it)

No I didn’t I think I closed off the drain point and then pumped up. I tested the pressure in the EV last night and it was at 1.75 bar. This is the pressure of the boiler I think. I didn’t see any water coming out of the valve. Is it common for the EV to go aged 15 yrs? I could change it...

Roof repair not worked that well

No the leak is damaged felt and is 2 yrs old. The dorma refit was nothing to do with it but yes the lead would be tucked under the facia but it was decided to do the sides after the roof went on. So I have a small gap but have left it for now. A silicone bead will sort it out if an issue

Boiler pressure dropped today (after i charged it)

The pressure is not going crazy as I know it can do on combi’s. It was running at 2.1 bar when I last checked and resting pressure is 1.7 bar I checked in the boiler and can’t see any water leaks

Boiler pressure dropped today (after i charged it)

I recharged the EV on saturday on my valant boiler. It's 15 yrs old now. I drained down the boiler and recharged to 1bar. It was at 0.55bar. I thought the recent pressure drops would be sorted, but the pressure has dropped off today. I can't find any leak on the syatem. The blow off pipe...

Roof repair not worked that well

I think the flashing will be ok. That break is there for expansion. Some sealant behind it will work if it becomes an issue. Thanks all for opinions

Roof repair not worked that well

The flat is fully ripped out and I will be renting it out so no one there at the mo, but i can take photos. I'm not a roofer, but i ended up doing the dorma in fiberglass but the roof was done first and then it was decided to do the slates again. So yes ideally the lead apron would be under...

Roof repair not worked that well

Can you see the patch ? I managed to lift the rubber narrow valley at the joint and push the lead about 10mm upwards to give it a little lap. I didnt want to go higher in case i created more problems. I use a sealant on this join as well. Its a 1890 aged building converted into flats in...

Roof repair not worked that well

Well it has helped by 70% and a small bucket will collect any water coming into this loft void now but I want to try get it sorted properly. I have a video but you can’t load them here This is the only photo I have and the issue is at the bottom of the valley as you look down onto the dorma...

Roof repair not worked that well

I think it might be a rubber system, not felt, but anyway it has failed. Got some patch up advice and he said to use fibreglass and resin over it. Sand it back a lot and then lay the fibre glass over the bad area and resin over. It's much cheaper than having to replace the whole valley. The...

Roof repair not worked that well

I have a flat valley about 50cm wide dividing two semis on the roof. I had a crack in the valley where another valley runs into it. The valley is felted, but is older. So i coated this valley in fibrepol (a sticky water proof paint solution with fibres) and it looked like it helped improve...

Cost to replace flat roof on garage.

Just seen this as I was about to post a similar question, so I thought i would post on this thread my info. My question was about the rough costs i have seen on the internet as to the cost per sqm for fibre glassing. It seems the price is around £100. Is this including materials or just the...

    Adjusting pvc door

How do I adjust this door? It is catching a bit so you lift the door up a little when you close it. I think you do something with Allen keys on the hinges.
