Hi, got this ugly thing on the wall needs to be moved. My Q, would anyone familiar with these know if there are 2 sets of wires to each switch inside. We would hope to have a cooker switch separate and underneath the worktop have a plug switch for washing machine. I could have new equivalent...

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

Hi, I thought I'd follow up my post as I've now got this thermostat installed and working, thanks to my very qualified plumber. It turned out the stat is actually quite simple, L and N obvious enough but we found when we connected the remaining 2 terminals there was no output, they were dead no...

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

I see it, thank you. Think it's just jumped to my heating chap when he comes round to service. He wired it originally in the swap to combi so will more competent than me, although I'm not entirely comfortable wiring the combi there must be wires running to the programmer which are already in...

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

Hi,my atag combi is a A325SEC (X)linked to a Honeywell 7 day programmer, ST9400C. This is linked into my Honeywell thermostat that I was hoping to replace. I had a boiler and immersion which was upgraded to a combi. So the stat just did temp. One half of my Honeywell programmer is redundant now...

    Change mechanical stat to wireless

Hi, There was a wiki on this but it's gone so I need to ask for some help. I have an old Honeywell mechanical thermostat, 4 wires = earth, yellow switched live, blue neutral and a red live. I want to replace it. My replacement (dipping my toe in something newer) has a live and neutral input + 2...

Is viessmann really worth that much more ?

Yes it is by platinum installer to qualify. The intergas shows 26.6kw, the atag 30.9kw in my plumb catalogue so it's the atag for extra oomph. I'm happy enough ssteel will outlast the other components. :)

Is viessmann really worth that much more ?

flip a coin time, warranties look great on both (5 years) but Intergas also offer 10 years on HExchanger. Both HE made of stainless so be surprised if either fail. Atag ECX is sold by Atag commercial (split company now so it Atag commercial doing the A series not the ic series) ATAG is the...

Is viessmann really worth that much more ?

Thanks to everyone for their input, it helped me quite a bit. My final choice between 2 boilers is just down to availability (and firm pricing) that are nigh on identical price and performance, I think one edges the other for reliability, one edges for efficiency but its neither here nor there...

Is viessmann really worth that much more ?

Hi, had some great help so far and had my mind set on a viessmann 200W 35kw boiler, the range is a bit confusing but with weather comp etc and latest B model it comes in a nigh on £1650 with flue. An intergas combi compact eco rf 36 comes in at around £1200 all in (with flue) Both seem to be...

Migrating from heat only to combi Qs

Hi, no buried pipes, I had the heating put in about 8 years ago so it's all relatively new and accessible, just have a weak boiler, baxi solo which has given me trouble although it's been well behaved for the last week or so.

Migrating from heat only to combi Qs

Hi, thanks for quick replies :) Assume you have discounted fact that if the boiler isn't working you'll have no heating and no hot water. Yes I'm in luck, living in bungalow and had elec shower fitted in one bathroom + bathroom sinks have inline water heaters fitted as hot water took so long to...

Migrating from heat only to combi Qs

Hi, I am soon to change my heat only system to combi, a viessmann 200 35kw Combi and I have a few layman questions to ask, I'm interested to know as I think its quite clever to be honest but wary of some pitfall. 1. There is a lot of talk of saving space which is great but what about parts like...

Viessmann advice pls compare 100W vs 200W models

thank you, it's all helpful info. & recommendations always welcome :) As far as the Intergas (for anyone else who may come across this thread) "the Eco range of combi boilers can be converted to a system boiler very easily. The engineer doesn’t connect anything to the hot and cold pipes on the...

Thank you, never heard of that but will read more on it tomorrow as it's a bit confusing to me " it's a combi but you can also use it as a system boiler" But just the sort of help I needed to help me decide.
