    Front Garden Drive Conversion issues

I can use any contractor as long as they have a certain amount of liability insurance. The local council will do it at a cost of around £3k which is about double the price of independents. Thanks for all the input and planning tips but without wanting to sound rude / ungrateful - my post was...

    Front Garden Drive Conversion issues

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to put a application in this week. In the meantime I'm hoping that my solution will work. The Car is coming soon so I need to make sure it will be ok on the drive whilst I await permission to drop the kerb. Thanks

    Front Garden Drive Conversion issues

Going to get the application in this week but looking online this can take 4-6 months and the car is coming much before then. I already have a soak away and am hoping that by using permeable gravel that should be ok.

Not here, you only need to ask for planing for drive if non-permiable.

    Front Garden Drive Conversion issues

I'm well aware that until I get a drop kerb that I cant - hopefully people will see my car charging on the drive and not park in front. Like I mentioned there are many houses on the same street that do not have a dropped kerb so Its almost like a unwritten rule for the residents of the street.

    Front Garden Drive Conversion issues

Not yet but will when the drive is in place. TBH though there are at least 15 houses on the same road who haven't and have not had any issues. But obviously it will help with the bottoming out issue. My problem is the length of time the local council takes to make a decison and I need to charge...

    New Fence Post Wobble

Hi all, Starting to errect my first fence. I've set some 200mm * 2400mm posts 2ft into ground with postcrete. All have gone well except one that after it had gone off is moving in the ground - post and concrete is moving together. The ground did feel a little softer but not too much when...

    Composite door crack

Hi all, A friend pointed out an issue with our composite door that is less than 6 months old. It looks as if the 'skin' as in the coloured part with the wood grain has somehow been pulled off. I'm guessing that this has happened as it's possibly been cut rough and caught either on the frame...

    Hep2O under suspended floor

Am I right in thinking the flow is usually on the left and has the thermostat? Return is the right? Thanks

    Hep2O under suspended floor

Vermin was a concern, we have had mice in the past but this was over 5 years ago with nothing since. Lifting floorboards up I can also see cable so if we did have mice that would also be chewed through too! TBH - where can't mice get in nowadays!

    Hep2O under suspended floor

The current pipes into the old radiator that I am replacing are 10mm and are above the skirts, they come down from the ceiling the other side of the room and then follow the skirts to the old horizontal rad. Im going to cut them where ther are bent 90 deg near the floor and then using the 10mm...

    Hep2O under suspended floor

Good advice thanks - I plan on letting the system run for a couple of weeks before I fix the floorboards down and tile over. Should hopefully be no issues!

    Hep2O under suspended floor

Thanks oldbutnotdead It shouldnt be a issue to get most of the pipe insulated. Future maintenance is an issue because the floor will be tiled

    Hep2O under suspended floor

Thanks for that Dilalio - The sleeper walls have gaps in so ive managed to thread the pipe through last night as a trial run. My issue is really if it can just be left on the floor

    Hep2O under suspended floor

Hi all, Im looking to fit a new vertical radiator in the kitchen. Im looking to run some 15mm Hep20 under the suspended floor. I plan on doing it like so: Use a 10mm to 15mm coupler to attach the Copper 10mm to the 15mm Hep2O - this is on show above the floorboards but will be hidden by a...
