Thanks all, have ordered the knotting. Would you definitely not just use water based emulsion as the under coat? Was hoping to go with that as have plenty already in the house - would it leave a bad finish using this?

Just fitted new skirting, bare timber. Going to paint with water based satin wood. What's the best way to minimise coats - go straight for the satin wood or put on some kind of under coat / whitewash?

Thanks guys, sorry should have been more clear, the water is coming from between the (now identified) MDPE blue pipe and the black fitting above it. If you zoom in you can actually see the o ring which I presume should be compressed between the two.

Yes I managed to unscrew it from the top part, so looks like this is the part I need (see photo). Needle in a haystack springs to mind (or impossible!).

Hi all, could someone tell me if it's possible to access the diverter valve on these type of taps (see photo attached) for repair/replacement? When I turn the taps on no matter which 'setting' the knob is on I get half water coming out of the taps and half out of the shower.

I would have thought water can get in between the screen and the profile where it slots in? Anyhow I appreciate your opinion on this. I'll take a look tonight and see if the seal is broken next to the profile, and consider sealing up the inside before removing the screen.

Won't that create a channel between the silicone on the outside of the profile and the inside? I thought you were only supposed to silicone the outside and let capillary action do the rest.

That's brilliant guys thanks very much. I'll leave the side without the leak in place and pivot the leak side out and fix. I'd not though of doing that, it will certainly cut down the amount of silicone I need to deal with!
