    Priming plywood floor

Hi, could anyone tell me if it is still necessary to prime an over boarded timber floor please, the over boarding is 15mm ply and I will be using Mapei Super flexible Grey Tile Powder Adhesive. If it does can anyone recommend a product as I'm aware PVA is not the way to go!

    Mortar between concrete window sills

Could anyone recommend a product that will remain in place within the joint of an external concrete window sill please. The sill is made up of 2 precast sections with the mortar joint in the centre. There is nothing on the underside of the joint to stop the mortar falling out, which it has...

Hi John, I managed to secure the welsh plug and I also found some gel like substance in one of the filters which I assume was old fuel. Cleaned this out and its running like a dream, thanks for all your help, it is hugely appreciated. Best regards

John, just before I try, its dome side up and do I need to press it in so it ends up flat or just press it in enough so it stays in place?

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, yes, I have to prise it out. There was a new one in the rebuild kit which I put back in but its loose, guess I was too afraid to press too hard but I will try with a bit more pressure. The other Welsh plug in the photo came in the kit but I cant see one in my carb, do you think its...

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

I could only find one to replace on my carb John, the one on the left, does that sound about right? I will try fitting it again but apply more pressure. Do you think this could be the reason its struggling to run?

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, the one on the left is the old one, the one on the right I'm assuming is for another mode that was in the kitl as I couldn't find one in my carburettor like this.

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, I managed to get hold of a kit and fit it and thoroughly cleaned the carb out with carb cleaner. There was one gasket and one diaphragm extra in the kit which I'm guessing is for another similar model. The only part I don't think is fitted correctly is a sort of steel flat piece which...

    Lifespan of tile adhesive/grout

I have a tub of tile adhesive/grout which has been sitting in my garage for a few years. When I opened it it had separated with an oil type layer on the top. Will this still be ok to use as I've stirred it and it looks like when it was new?

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, That's unbelievable, how do you know so much just looking at the photos, I'm gobsmacked, thank you. I've looked at replacement carburettors but they seem to be around the £40 mark. A gasket/diaphragm kit and carb cleaner from GHS is around £15. My only concern would be I don't have...

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Hi John, Thanks for the reply. I didn't notice any rubber diaphragm but did notice a sort of plastic gasket with what looked like a diaphragm built into the middle and another sort of foil circle on the carburettor that looked quite flimsy.

    McCulloch petrol strimmer

Does any one have any experience of fixing these. Stripped mine down as it seems to be starved of fuel as it just keeps cutting out. There wasn't any noticable blockages but still won't run, any ideas anyone.

    12v micro switch

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I want to use a micro switch as my garage is very small, when I put my car in the garage I want the switch to light a bulb so I know hat the car is far enough in so I can close the garage door. Therefore the switch will stay depressed until I take my car out...
