    Replacing a sectional garage roof

You can get metal roofing sheets with a 'furry' underside, this helps to resist condensation, a few vents will help as well. Ask your council if they have an asbestos disposal service, in London boroughs, they will collect a certain amount free of charge. You have to bag and tape it up...

Shiplap Cladding Gaps - help !

Still looks a bit tight, although the photo isn't the best. Sort the cladding first, the roof can be remedied if need be, but let's get the cladding sorted first. Answer, take it off and redo it. Not essential, but add breather membrane if you can, but with the battens it might bring the...

    Block work workshop footings ?

If you avoid digging any big holes and clad it in something other than wood or uPVC, you don't need regs, it's just a shed. Timber framed would probably cost more in materials and time than the blocks alone, but when you factor in digging foundations and pouring concrete, it might start to...

    Block work workshop footings ?

The other option is to abandon the blocks idea, just build a couple of courses of brick off the slab, and put up a timber framed shed, you could use metal cladding sheets or fibre cement cladding to meet the 'substantially non-combustible' rule, insulate between the studwork for bonus thermal...

    Block work workshop footings ?

Dig a test pit at the edge of the slab and see what's what. You could save some digging by doing a pad and beam foundation, but you'll still have to dig holes for the pads, then the expense of steel beams, rebar or massive concrete lintels. When you come full circle you'll probably decide that...
