Maybe. Going by the photos, the poster is not one for hedge trimming. Getting a professional in will likely make for a tidier hedge, and he won't have to deal with the waste. Garden tools in the hands of the inexperienced... I've seen some right pigs ears.

Bin the wall, keep the hedge. Needs a trim though, maybe wait until winter and get an arborist to do a hedge refurbishment. Money saved on a rebuild can be used for that, and a decent hedge trimmer so you can maintain it. Or if you want to rebuild the wall, remove hedge and roots, replant...
