Maybe. Going by the photos, the poster is not one for hedge trimming. Getting a professional in will likely make for a tidier hedge, and he won't have to deal with the waste. Garden tools in the hands of the inexperienced... I've seen some right pigs ears.
I destroyed my hedge in a few hours, it was a multiple of the length of that shown and taller too.
No power tools needed, just a lopper. It's amazing how few cuts it needs when you're chopping through the chunky branches rather than snipping off the twigs. It's basically a bunch of lollipops, if you snip the stick below the lump then it's easy. It will look butchered until next year, this year's buds have already formed and it's probably illegal to do it now anyway due to the birds...

The shredder/chipper is a useful means of getting rid of the waste, but you could ram into the back of a car/van and take to the tip or burn it if you hate your neighbours.
