You guys should consider fostering dogs if you’re not sure about a full time commitment at the moment. Quite often the people that foster end up keeping the animal anyway, but it is a valuable resource for the animal shelters to have people that can take an animal for a few weeks or months.

Small update as I managed to get a day and a half of building time in over the Easter weekend. Only a day and a half as I did a trade of labour with a mate of mine - he came over and helped me with the garage for half the long weekend and I went to help him plaster his house for the other half...

Use masking or frog tape on the area to cut, and draw your cut line on the tape can cut…that will help. Without wishing to state the obvious, the finer the blade (higher number of teeth) the neater the cut.
