Hi there my DIY garden shed is coming along really nicely. I'm currently working on the exterior cladding (see images below). For the cladding I've double battened on to 11mm OSB walls and then sealed off with 6mm plywood sheets painted with liquid DPM. As a finishing decor I'm adding slats from reclaimed old softwood like the ones they take out from old roofs in loft conversions. The grain is dense and very pretty and they can withstand the weather to some degree. As a first measure I applied everbuild 3 in 1 wood treatment but wondering if that would be enough to stop the weathering and deterioration of the wood over time. I'd like the wood to be preserved for many years and keeping maintenance to minimum. I'd also like to keep the natural colour of the wood. while keeping the natural colour of wood and it's tanning over time. What would be the best clear matt seal and water repellent for this sort of wood in exterior conditions? Thanks in advance.

Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra. Protect exterior wood against UV damage & weathering.

Hey guys thank you for the reply. I agree it is unconventional but not sure if it is an approach or just me being stingy trying to save a few bucks... But with the cost of the osmo above it's getting rather pricy... Ive ordered it let's see how it performs as I will hate to lose the fresh look of the timber.
