    you did. passive trips on power fail (use for stuff you dont want to start without warning on power resume) active doesnt trip on power fail(ideal for fridges)

    i wish he could have stayed longer, but he would have started suffering in the next few days. not something i would want him to have gone thru, and not for him to remember him bein force to stay alive longer. not even 10 years old. ive had him almost half my life, and ill never forget the day...

    dont get you with colours 3core was red yellow and blue, now brown black and grey? you need a 3core between lights for a signal line. you can use 3core to CU if you want, but you can get away with twin

    i think the batteries are just to keep the time/date etc in memory if the power fails. obviously, if its soldered in its not designed to be replaced. why do you need to replace it? (lots of power cuts?)

    1: they dont know where you want it 2: yes, perfectly acceptable and remember, if the lid overhangs the edge, leave a gfap between the boxes. last time i had to take a grinder to the lid....

    what size SWA are you using? smaller stuff usually goes into plastic OK, providing there isnt too much stress on it (i.e it doesnt bend out of the CU)

    lobly hill bank just off the A1. pretty steep, but also very busy at times. shibdon and blaydon bank, again, pretty steep, but a few corners, should get a good run from shibon bank tho
