    Fiat part expertise requested

'69 1.4 Tipo 356 I took a spark plug out to get the part no. Its marked NGK FPT 55188857. I've tried to ascertain if its a long life type. It seems to be Iridium from a listing on Amazon. If so, @ 48k miles on the clock, I'll leave them in for now. By the way, has anyone got a set of these...

    Tipo replacement door mirror

My niece had her '69 Tipo 356 driver door mirror destroyed by a passing van. She's asked me to get it replaced. Has anyone bought from wingmirrorman.co.uk? I'm curious about the level of service.

    Tile grout

Is this tile adhesive an acceptable choice for ceramic tiles on a wall? A local bathroom and tiles centre stocks it.

    Tile grout

As daft as it sounds, I hadn't realised there is two separate products so I'm pleased I posted. Thanks! I have an even bigger tiling job to do so that should go well with the right product. By the way can an adhesive be used as a grout?

    Tile grout

I've been using No Nonsense brand from SF and had to try three times to get the tiles stuck to the wall which is painted with Dulux bathroom emulsion. The grout stuck to the wall but not the tiles until I made the grout rather watery so basically, a rather soggy grout before I got the tiles...

    Timing belt change method

With mine, a Bora TDI, there is the water pump replacement to consider so not really practical. Lots of clever stuff on YT but not always practical for your own vehicle.

    Timing belt change method

Is this method a yea or nay? Timing belt method I'm dubious about only being able to get the new belt on half way on before cutting the old one off.

    Caliper bolts sheared (Ed.)

Merely a suggestion! Carefully drill, as best you can, into the centre with a small bit for a pilot hole, keeping straight as best you can. Then use larger drill bits to get the drilled hole bore near to thread diameter then heat with a blow torch and use a large knackered flat screwdriver...

    Ratchet strap storage

Just if of interest to anyone with this type of ratchet strap having problems keep the ratchet and strap together when stored. By the way, from what I've watched on YT, the strap hook should be on the outside when coiled up so when throwing over a load, the hook is not on the end to cause...

White upvc window frame external sealant

Having watched a video on a YT channel where a woman does a lot of house renovation projects, she was advised in the comments to use brown sealant for her white upvc door. Apparently the colour contrast looks better. Is Everbuild External Acrylic Frame Sealant a suitable candidate for the job?

Preferred temp for installing glazing units

I'm asking with regard to toe and healing side hung windows. The amount of packing when doing the job in Winter @ 5°C is likely different to summer @ 30°C.

Fitting new hinges to a uPVC window - step by step.

An excellent how to thread. With mine when I changed the hinges, I had the additional issue of getting the window sides to frame (120cm) even on both sides for a good seal. On the worst, the difference was 6mm so basically it was 6/2 = 3mm horizontal adjustment to get the frame even.

    TV flicker at start up

Success! The TV is now repaired with new caps soldered into the pcb and the TV is flicker free at startup.

    TV flicker at start up

I've ordered the replacement caps, total £3.50. The seller advised me that they've done a lot similar jobs to what I'm attempting. Will post the result in due course.
