Stumped on adjusting these window hinges

I'm not sure those friction hinges are adjustable. Have you looked at the top hinge to see if it loose or broken. You may need to relace them if it is a case of the pivots wearing

    Is this quote expensive?

When do jobs ever work out to plan. Perhaps the damp is actually condensation under the floor and caued by poor air circulation. The poster hasn't been very clear about what the actual problem is.

Neighbours Bathroom Exhaust in Chimney Flue

Yes he should have chimney liner or trunking the length of the chimney and yes he can't encroach on your property to do it. Depending on the type of fan he is using it may not powerful enough to blow air up and out the chimney and that would contribute to damp.

    Extractor fan in chimney breast?

I think it's presumed the chimney will have a trunking throughout its length ( by me anyway ) and an exterior cowl. Hob extractors would be more than powerful enough to blow through most chimneys.

Timber Frame - Windows install correct detailing ?

Not trying to answer your questions but just thoughts that came to mind when reading your posts. Will the window supplier still honour a warranty if you don't let them do it as they want to. Aren't you supposed to get sign off paperwork from a regulatory body with those sorts of windows ( is it...

    Extractor fan in chimney breast?

It's not something I have ever used but I think you could vent up the chimney using one of these. https://www.extractorfanworld.co.uk/blogs/condensation-traps Never heard of a building reg that prohibits a vent pipe passing through a chimney void. That would be my prefered option but it might...

A pic of the outside would help, but I would tend to think this might bt your problem and the thing to do first. "Rainwater entering through the unsealed window perimeter."
